Myla Goldberg's CATCHING THE MOON tells of an old woman who fishes with rod, reel and mouse every time the moon comes out. Nobody would fish in the dark - what can she catch with a mouse? One day the Man in the Moon puts on his traveling hat and pays a visit in this fun whimsical tale.

"Hardback" arrived. Loose pages in a dust jacket. Wha??? Sent it back. One of the most confusing shipments I have ever received. The humor, however, was not wasted, which is why I rate it three stars instead of -10.

This is one of my top five favorites for children. The words are poetry, and the story is filled along the way with implied lessons. Beautifully, beautifully written.

I bought this book at a store for my little girl. We love it so much! She loves the screech "A worm?!" I read it to my daughter every night for bed. She loves the man in the moon. So I used that to help her deal with my deployment. I told her that any time she wanted to talk to Mommy, she could tell the man in the moon what she wanted to say, and he would tell me. She really liked that idea. Now, while I'm gone, I look up to the moon each night that he's in the sky and smile, talking to my little girl before I go to bed.

My son loves this book. It is very calm and relaxing making it a great bed time book, and is a pleasure for parents to read as well.

I love this book! First saw it when visiting with Sarah Burlingame in Cheyenne Wyoming, who got an autographed copy since Myla was speaking at a Writers' event there. Loved the story and illustrations so much I've bought copies as gifts for all of my friends with children.

I knew Myla at Oberlin, and this is just the sort of beautiful, magical book I would expect from her.
