This is a great item if you do not like bugs and spiders and crickets.

Would be better if when you peel off the thin protector paper and expose the sticky pad it's clean and free of the advertisement and sketches of bugs.

If I have to kill any mammal, I prefer it to be instantaneous, the way a good trap does it.

I bought these and until yesterday I thought they were pretty great- I have them around my basement and always find some little spiders and other creepy things stuck to them. I've caught quite a few brown recluse spiders which I've been bitten by one before so I'm happy there's less of them because of these glue traps. Yesterday- I saw the biggest spider I've ever seen- I threw some glue traps around him before I ran out of the room screaming- omg...if I was left wondering where that thing went- I'm not sure I could sleep again, but he ran on the glue trap and got stuck- I LOVE these things- they work!!!! I'm going to have to order more- I've covered every little space in my basement with these =)

I've long been an avid user of Catchmaster's glue traps, due to their effectiveness at trapping the disease-spreading and pantry-raiding pests. The superiority of glue traps to traditional "snap" mice traps is fairly easy to explain -- whereas snap traps rely on the uncertain chance of a mouse actually making an attempt at taking the bait (which often doesn't happen, and if it does, often fails to set off the trap) glue traps act as a physical barrier to paths that are frequently traveled by mice, thus increasing the odds of actually catching one. Placed properly -- in the corners of and along the walls of crawl spaces, attics, basements, laundry rooms, pantries, underneath kitchen sink cabinets, fridges, ovens, etc. (because mice have poor eyesight and move along walls, rarely walking across floors in open spaces) -- they are extremely effective devices. They will also catch insects such as silverfish, roaches, etc.

These traps consist of a 3.5" wide by 7" long strip of paperboard with a very strong glue smeared on the surface. The thin paperboard backing makes it very easy to slide these traps underneath narrow spaces such as under a stove, refrigerator or basement hot water tank. Simply peel off the adhesive strip covering the glue and places the traps as described above.

These traps come pre-baited with a scented glue that smells vaguely of popcorn, so no bait is required, but if you want to ensure deadly results, you can put a very small dab of peanut butter in the middle of the trap (mice have an excellent sense of smell). For the price, this box of 75 traps is great deal and will allow you to defend your home against rodents for an entire winter season.

It has to be three years ago that I was first aware of sharing my living space with small rodents that could remove the bait without tripping the black plastic Tomcat traps. If I have to kill any mammal, I prefer it to be instantaneous, the way a good trap does it. Unfortunately it has become clear to me that I cannot keep a proper clean house while allowing rodent habitation. Since I live on a river in a rural area, rodents keep choosing MY food and warmth. So glue traps have become a last resort, however inhumane I consider them.

These things do work: one mouse was strong and large and he was stuck big-time. You see, I had ignored my visiting mice for a while until they kept me up at night. Then I surrounded my baited black plastic traps with these glue strips, filled a pail with water and went to bed. Around midnight I was wakened not by squeaks but by a lot of ruffling sounds. I reluctantly but quickly got up and found that I finally had caught three distinctly different-appearing mice. One had been killed by the trap but two were caught on the glue boards, apparently attracted to the uneaten peanut butter on the trap. Although this was really hard for me to do, I faced the situation by putting the stuck mice out of their misery ASAP, which as you may have guessed involves that pail of water. *sigh* I use a former kitty litter pail with cover.

Please note that occasionally mice will manage to free themselves if just their fur gets stuck, by leaving behind copious amounts of fur, but generally as they struggle, their dilemma becomes worse. And usually all four feet get too stuck so there is no getting away. One night one freed itself only to trip one of the traps.

This is really, really a last resort for me.

We decided to try this brand and so far it's OK. Catches bugs for sure, which is the main reason we got these. The boards have a funky odor ....not really heavy but noticeable. I have to keep the box in garage because of the odor from the stack of them. The thing we don't like is there's bold black advertising and drawings of bugs on the surface. Would be better if when you peel off the thin protector paper and expose the sticky pad it's clean and free of the advertisement and sketches of bugs. We usually use TomCat Brand pest glue boards and like them better for their size and they are clear, I like to see what's caught, not art work of bugs on a pad. Price is good on these, so it's worth it.

They do not work. The mice step on them, and the glue is so weak they pull themselves off. You can see they move the flimsy cardboard across the floor and then disappear.
