Totally Addictive,
By Beth Kershner (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Category 5 (Audio CD)
Being a Firehouse fan since the beginning, I must say that I love the diversity of this album. Each Firehouse album contributes different styles and shows the maturity of the band's writing. Category 5 has some very rocking tunes that showcase the band's harmonizing abilities that so many of us love. There's also some songs that are a little more mellow that a person can just get 'lost' into. The hidden track is extremely different. I love that the band shared this song with us. Basically, I've had Category 5 for 1 1/2 years and it's still in my cd player as one of my top 5 cd's to listen to. The diversity will satisfy any hard rock style. A must buy!

Entirely too mellow to be considered a rock album,

Don't let the other reviews fool you...they are being written by fans of Firehouse who have instituted a campaign on the Firehouse website to score points with the band. This album is TRULY mellow, including one song that you can waltz to. Try the downloads before you spend your money. I will add, however, that I do like it very much, but I was disappointed because I expected something at least SIMILAR to previous releases. It took me a while to get into this one. Try it before you buy it.

Category 5..more intense than a hurricane,
By A Customer
Firehouse, a band that has been together since 1990...playing clubs, and then getting signed to Sony.. and releasing their self titled cd "firehouse" in 1991... well....4 albums later, they come out with ..CATEGORY 5. They have stuck to their rock and roll roots with rockers like "have mercy", "acid rain" and keeping their ballad record with "dream" ...soon to be a #1 hit on the charts. Other songs "the nights were young", talks about the good ol days.. as kids, "the day, the week and the weather" song about a broken family...and look out for the hidden track called "get to know you" with bassist perry richardson on vocals...a rammstein/industrial sounding song.. but a huge hit as their intro song for their live shows.. the rest of the cd is really good... so go check out the cd, and i advise you GO BUY IT!..a definite BUY OR DIE!!
