Editorial Reviews

From the Label

FireHouse has done it again! They're bigger & better than ever. Great melodic rock-n-roll songs with killer riffs & amazing vocals. Wonderfully produced. If you could only add one more disc to your collection, this is the one! *****

Product Description

This collection of melodic rock songs is the 5th CD by this American Music Award winning quartet. The album's diversity ranges from hard hitting rockers to soulful ballads.

4.0 out of 5 stars Totally Addictive, December 10, 1999
Being a Firehouse fan since the beginning, I must say that I love the diversity of this album. Each Firehouse album contributes different styles and shows the maturity of the band's writing. Category 5 has some very rocking tunes that showcase the band's harmonizing abilities that so many of us love. There's also some songs that are a little more mellow that a person can just get 'lost' into. The hidden track is extremely different. I love that the band shared this song with us. Basically, I've had Category 5 for 1 1/2 years and it's still in my cd player as one of my top 5 cd's to listen to. The diversity will satisfy any hard rock style. A must buy!

2.0 out of 5 stars Another rocking hair band that doesn't rock anymore, March 11, 2004
By thegreatjustino (Stockton, CA United States) - See all my reviews
What happend to the firehouse of the early 90s? This group went from a once hard rocking band to putting out shlock like Category 5. If you are thinking about buying this because you enjoyed their earlier albums, be prepared to be dissapointed. It's a bunch of mellow rock that I would expect to hear on a radio station in a dentist's office. A station that plays Phil Collins, Sheryl Crow, and Bryan Adams.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 star album, July 29, 1999
By A Customer
This one is a killer! A bit more mellow than the first album, but it ties the with the first album for being the BEST! Top Hit material in Can't stop the pain; Dream; The Day, The Week, And The Weather; Bringing Me Down; and Acid Rain. If you like medolic rock and killer ballads, this is a must. On the down side, I would actually rate this album 4 and 1/2 stars. The first reason is that it is an import in the U.S and very hard to get a hold of. The second reason is because of the "hidden, unlisted tune" after Life Goes On. Wait for about 15 to 20 seconds, and a weird un-firehouse like tune starts to play. It is completely different from the normal Firehouse sound, almost like a techo-metal sound. If you are a Firehouse fan, this album is a must have!
