I've seen the tv-special and caught her act at the Flamingo in Vegas in the late 60ies and was mesmerized by hear talent and vitality!
For anyone who wants to experience this legendary performer at her absolute peak, do not miss this extraordinary package(strange that it is not mentioned here that it contains 1 DVD and 1 CD!!!)
In the same league as Sammy Davis Jr.! (Did they ever perform together???)

Skip everything else, and get this while you can. It's the famed "Caterina from Heidelberg" TV special that aired in 1968, and we are unlikely to experience ANYTHING like this again. Thanks to Caterina's son, this is finally available. Caterina Valente's incredible here--this bundle of so much talent doesn't come around often. A unique performance from a unique performer. In a previous review I had had problems with the DVD playing here in the United States, but it was my player, an older (circa 1997) DVD player. The DVD plays perfectly on the new player--it is PAL format, but not region coded. The sound on the CD is brilliant stereo. I couldn't be happier with this product.

This show is absolutely anbelievable. I just can't believe that so much talent can be holded in one person. I JUST CAN*T BELIEVE IT. I've just seen the show. Just give me some time to get over it, please.

I have been a fan of Caterina for many years..Never seen her perform until this DVD from Heidelberg..I wish I could have seen her in person but this makes up for everything. One of the top female vocalist of our times

I'm very happy with the quality of the CD. I can't give a review of the DVD because we didn't receive it in our order!

Dissapointed with this item. i have a multi region dvd player plus others but cannot get a video to play. i really wanted this dvd if you can help please do as i would like to watch this show.

This item came with the CD only, no DVD anywhere to be found, so it's false advertisement. I bought this item for the DVD, I already have all those songs in mp3 format and I wanted to watch her perfomance, what a huge disappointment!!!

This is a magnificent concert - excellent stereo sound on the CD, and good picture quality on the DVD (it's in PAL format, but ALL region-coded, so recent DVD players should play it just fine). My favorite moments were the Beatles medley (particularly the longer version on the CD, which includes "A Hard Day's Night," "And I Love Her [Him]," "Yesterday," "Michelle," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "Eleanor Rigby," and "Can't Buy Me Love." Only "And I Love Her [Him]," "Yesterday," and "Can't Buy Me Love" were done in the TV special) and the tap number to "One of Those Songs" done with Caterina's brother Silvio.

The only drawback to this collection is that I paid an outrageously high price (over $70 for it) at Amazon.ca, despite the fact that the Amazon Merchant was located in Oregon. At the time I ordered, Amazon.com had only the MP3 version; now of course, there are 2 copies available for $15, after the fact (if I had not made the Amazon.ca purchase, these cheaper copies would not have been available at all). You live and learn.

It's amazing that a CD/DVD released in 2005 went in and out of print so quickly. Eraki must have released it as a limited edition, or there was not much demand for it initially, or licensing issues got in the way.

One final point: the special "Caterina in Heidelberg" aired in 1968 on CBS. I wondered why I didn't remember it, and the CD booklet showed that the special aired late Sunday night (I was in the eighth grade then, and it was a school night). No wonder I didn't see it!

As I was not able to contact Amazon, i contacted Eraki records company and they answered that the product which was sold to me by Amazon was a conterfact !!!!
It is unbelievable and inacceptable

The TV special on cd is nicely recorded but it's tv and not a concert. Beware-Pal dvd will not play on our ntsc dvd players!
