Caterpillar Construction Truck - Dump Truck

My son received this for his 3rd birthday. He hasn't stopped playing with it & we're ordering others to go along with it. He loves the fact that it's a dump truck (which dumps)& you can take it apart. It falls apart when you throw it, which my son thought was so cool. It does stay together when played with normal, not too rough.

This is Not at all what I expected. When it said Mega blocks I expected the big version of Legos. The picture makes it look like it's pretty big. This entire truck is only maybe 5 inches long. This is not worth the $20 that I paid for it. Do not buy this if you want a dump truck that can hold anything bigger than 2 inches by 2 inches. Only good thing is it does actually run well on carpet.

This is a simple dump truck that works well with LEGO Duplo and Mega Bloks Caterpillar line toys.

The good: materials and manufacturing quality are very good. This is a well made toy that will last as long as the parts are not lost. It can be built and re-built and modified and mixed with other parts from LEGO Duplo or the Mega Bloks toys. That's the reason to buy this dump truck instead of another.

The not-as-good: the hinge on the dump is not very rugged, and may be the first item to break with rough use/abuse. The truck doesn't have a lot of parts, so this will have limited play value without some other compatible construction equipment.

I don't recommend this toy be used in actual dirt unless you intend to wash it carefully. The details that make this fun and useful as a toy with parts will get messed up by repeated exposure to dirt. This toy is at home indoors with similar LEGO Duplo and Mega Bloks brick toys.

Recommendation: get this if it has to be a dump truck, and you want it to be compatible with LEGO Duplo and Mega Bloks CAT series toys. Consider the Mega Bloks CAT Material Hauler for more play value (as observed.)
