He loves this one, and it is warm, The only thing I don't like is that the hood comes unhooked a lot.

I'd been looking for a heavy coat for a while as it gets cold here in Maryland during the winter months and my down jacket was coming apart. I'm also anemic so I get cold very easily. I didn't want to spend a ton of money but I still wanted a something nice and fucntional. I figured if Caterpillar could make good heavy machinery then they could make a good coat. [^_^]

It most certainly keeps you warm. Even when it's gusty it does the job very well. I like that the sleeves are wind proof. There's a good seal with the stretching inner cuff in the arm. There are lots and lots of pockets to keep all your things in both inside and out. I like the security pockets in between the flaps closest to the main zipper.

I would rate this coat @ a 4.5 out of 5.The only points off are for the main side pockets on the front of the coat. They're lined to keep your hands warm but they could be angled a bit to be more ergonomically positioned. If they were tilted a bit even at a degree angle these pockets would be awesome. Also it gets really warm during normal walking. That might be just me because my internal temp gauge is broken haha That's just nit picking though. It's a solid coat/parka.

Although not as puffy as I might have wanted, the coat is surprisingly warm and definitely windproof. Just after receiving it we had temps of 17 degrees F. with wind chill of -10. I was out photographing the recent snow and the coat kept me pretty comfortable. The pockets are a bit too small to store bulky hat or gloves in though.

I go to school in Colorado Springs which can be very cold and very very windy sometimes having wind chills up to -40. This coat is great for the cold wet weather. I have worn it in the rain while my jeans were soaked the rest of my body was dry and warm. It's awesome in the wind even when its very cold. The zipper is overlapped with the coat's outer fabric so nothing, not even water. can get through. I have worn it in 25mph wind gusts in 15 degree weather and only wore a t-shirt underneath, and still been warm. Has many pockets and 4 on the inside so you can keep your gloves or whatever warm and dry. Most of all it's very DURABLE, the best I've ever had. The hood is large and the large collar adds even more protection from the elements while the coat itself is very comfortable to wear. Would recommend for anybody who lives in cold wet windy places.

I am always hesitant about buying clothes online and I am glad I read the reviews first. This coat is comfortable, heavy, keeps me warm, and is well built. It has plenty of pockets, and a handy double zipper, so you can put it on, zip up, but if you need to drive, lift the lower zipper to open up the bottom and you can sit and drive comfortably.

FYI, the reviewer who said this coat is big wasn't kidding. I bought a medium even though I normally wear large shirts. I am glad I did. The medium fits wonderfully, even when I am fully dressed and wearing a hoody, I can put the coat on over that.
For reference I am 5'9" and 175 lbs.

The jacket arrived a full 4 days ahead of the delivery date, even with international shipping to Norway.
The build quality is good, i had a problem with a toggle missing on the hood drawstrings, but thats not enough of a defect for me to return it. This jacket is VERY warm! I pulled it out of the box and threw it on over a very light t-shirt, then walked my dog in 28F weather with freezing rain and 20 mph wind. I couldnt feel the cold at all.

The fit, finish and design make this a very high quality, technical jacket. I am a little over six foot one inches tall and weigh 208 pounds. I normally wear an extra large shirt or jacket and a 44L in a suit. I am glad that I read the reviews and ordered one size smaller. The large size fits me well with enough room to wear a Polartec 300 fleece layer if needed. I own a North Face Parka that I paid over US $300.00 ten years ago that I still wear. I cannot believe that I paid less than US $75.00 for this warm, and well designed parka. I like wearing fingerless gloves and the hand warmer pockets are perfect and unobtrusive. This jacket should come in handy when we have twenty to thirty below zero temperatures for weeks on end sometimes in January and February. I really like this jacket and I would buy it again.

    Warm regards and Aloha,

This coat, parka, jacket.... whatever you want to call it is fantastic. For this review, I will be calling it a coat.

For the upcoming winter season I needed a new coat. My last one did great until it fell apart from over usage in many Midwestern winters. My the stupid thing rest in pieces.

So, Rather than going on to wal-mart or (insert name of store here), and deal with people, lines, my habit of compulsive buying (one day i went out for soda, came back with a laptop and a new dog. Forgot the soda. True story.) I figured i would purchase online from Amazon.

After hunting around the website for a good bit, i found this, and purchased it. (as well as a dog collar and some DVD-R's that I probably really didn't need).

When i got it, i was impressed.

Oh my the pockets! So many! Not to mention it looks great... seriously. People at work won't shut there pie holes on how great the coat looks.
It's very warm. Seriously. For as thin as it is, It has kept me warm so far this fall season in tropical Michigan.

Word of caution to potential buyers of this coat: People may think you work for Caterpillar. Had a gentleman approach me and tell me that he use to service caterpillar equipment and shook my hand. I thought at first he was just reminiscing about his days of working for the company. Then he asked me if "Dave" still worked there. I said, "wait, who?" That's when it dawned on this gentleman that i was in fact just an imposter, poser if you will. He walked away confused and i think he muttered something under his breath about how i wasted 12 seconds of his life or something. Poor guy.

At any rate, don't waste any more of your time with my review. Buy this! I promise you will not regret it.
