This review is from: Cateye CC-VL810 Velo 8-Function Bicycle Computer (Sports)
I recently bought a new bike, and rather than transfer my older model Cateye, I bought this upgrade model. I normally take an 8-mile ride on my hybrid bike 2 - 3 times per week. Basically, I want to know how fast I'm going and how far I've travelled. I bought this Cateye because it also tells me how many calories I've burned. It also gives the time, total distance, maximum speed, average speed and elapsed time.
It is very easy to install and set-up (no tools required), as well as simple to operate. Even if you do more intense riding, this device should exceed your expectations. You get a lot for the price.

I've had the bike computer for about a month and have been very happy thus far. The instructions for installation weren't the best, but if you take your time, you should be up and running relatively quickly. It's easy to scroll through the readouts and reset for new trips. I don't have any problems reading the display except at night (but I rarely ride my bike at night).
I'm only giving it 4 stars because the brackets for holding the computer and sensor seem a little cheap. Similar models have a plastic bracket to hold it in place, while this model does not. However, I usually ride on a limestone path and haven't experienced any problems with the sensor or computer staying in place.

This unit was very easy to install and set up. It took less than 20 minutes from package to operation. Based on mile markers on trails, the units accuracy is within .01 miles per mile ridden. Continues to work well on rough trails.
