Highly visible... great light,

This review is from: Cateye LD610 Taillight (Sports)
This is an upgrade version of another tail light Cateye makes.
Changes for the good... It seems to be a bit brighter than the previous model. And both were pretty bright. It really does a good job of getting people's attention. The attachment mechanism does not require any tools. Just thread the strip into the slot and start screwing the knob. Makes it easy add or remove the light and move it from bike to bike. Been through the rainy season with mine and I can vouch for the fact that it is sealed well against the rain seeping into the unit. Both this new one and old model seem very well designed to keep moisture out. (unlike many lights out there that I've tried that get ruined after a few rides in the rain) Reliable... I've never had this light (or the previous model) stop working in the middle of the ride. Many other lights I've tried don't secure the batteries well so ...hit a bump and you have no light. Worst of all, with a tail light... you won't know it is off till you get home and see that it isn't functioning and then realize you've been riding in the dark in traffic with no rear tail light. Not good. Not so with this one! Having a tail light that you can rely on to stay on and not go dark on you in the middle of a ride is a real comfort. Changes for the not so good... They placed the on-off button on the side and it is indistinguishable from a similarly shaped piece of red rubberized material placed in the exact location on the other side of the light. So I used to find myself pressing on the 'decorative' button on the opposite side of the light instead of the functional one. Got annoying so I marked the right side with a piece of tape. The button itself is rather small and it is difficult to be certain you're pressing it. A bit annoying. They changed the way you turn the light off. Used to be you press the on/off button several times(rotate through the functions) until you come to the 'off' function. On the new light, you have to press the button for about 3 or 4 seconds to turn it off. For me, I liked the old way better. I could turn it off in a second...vs 3 or 4. Conclusion... the good far outweighs the little problems. The light is bright, gets people's attention, is reliable and can take the rain without being ruined.

I purchased the "white" version of this Cat Eye bicycle light, thinking the LEDs were also white. No--they're red color lights behind a clear casing, housed in a white-colored frame.
Amazon and Cat Eye should augment their product description to state that the LED lights (for this specific product) are RED color.

This review is from: Cateye LD610 Taillight (Misc.)
I just purchased a bike about a month ago so it has only been a short time before I needed some accessories. I can safely say after receiving the Cateye LD610 (white) in the mail I am extremely pleased. I live in a rural area but the road I ride to work connects two major highways so I needed a bright light for at night. This easily passes the test with its 4 blinking modes and standard all on mode. If you do any kind of night riding on dark roads this light will be worth every penny spent. I turned it on in my home when the LEDs are literally blinding up close. If someone hits you with this taillight they would have to have been asleep at the wheel!
Pros: Slim Design Clear Lens Good mounting for the most part 4 blinking modes Brighter then most car brake lights Cons: Price - $20-$30 Honestly I can't even complain about the price because its a matter of you get what you pay for and this light is an excellent addition to any night riders bike. If you live in the country or think your roads are too dark for anything conventional, this light will do the trick! 2115|R2MT1Y3Y6OEZJC;2115|RT91XEBPHYVTX;2115|R3DU5CPQP9JZQD;
