I like this product. It works well, especially because I kept losing taillights as my lock (strapped around my seat post) kept knocking them off. So this works well as it's almost flush with the frame when strapped on. The overall functionality is great and it's nice and bright.

One thing left me VERY frustrated with the light, however, and it almost made me...

3.0 out of 5 stars It does the job..
It's a good product if you would like to be seen at night. With that said, it's easy to put on and install. However, I wish the front light was a bit brighter so that I can see what's ahead of me. I guess I will have to buy another light for that.

One thing left me VERY frustrated with the light, however, and it almost made me throw it in trash.

IT TURNS OFF AFTER 30 SECONDS!

But wait ...I went online and found instructions on the manufacturer website to disable this 'feature'. It's also buried in the Amazon description above.

***"TRY ME Note: Product must be taken out of Try Me retail demonstration mode. Press and hold button until rapid flashing is observed (10 or more seconds). This mode is designed to save battery and automatically turns product off after 30 seconds. "***

Perhaps knowing this info before ordering will make your experience more positive, since you won't have to wonder if your light is defective. On one hand, it might have been printed on the cardboard package --but at the same time, why should a tiny device with one huge button require extra reading to learn how to use it? I turned it on, tore it out of the package and figured that was that.

I wish they'd had this information loud and clear as I thought I had to get yet another new light ...Good luck and enjoy yours!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to spot, September 5, 2010

In night urban situations, you really want to be seen. I had a bright front light in blink mode and found it a little annoying. Using this kit, I am able to leave that steady with this kit's front and rear lights blinking. I feel really visible from the usual front and back. Unlike other lights, you can really see these from the side, too.

The spoke lights are a little over the top. Steady mode gives you a "Tron" looking bike. As a driver, it's not something you see every day and it will get your attention. I'm playing w/ the spoke lights on a 29" wheel and it seems fine. The next shop visit will tell me if it screws up the true'ing.

The newer packaging has each light with a little tag reminding people to take it out of try-it-out mode. Starting with it off, you have to hold the switch for over 10 seconds. If you do that, it will blink quickly and then turn off. I found the switch hard to hold down by hand. Pushing it down table made it really easy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bright Lights, One Keeps Shutting Off, October 20, 2011
This review is from: Cateye Loop & Orbit Commuter Kit (Sports)
I really like these lights as a set. They are very bright in a dark setting, and I suspect that the orange color of the wheel lights (like the orange of turn signals and tracking lights) has a positive effect on the psychology of drivers who have trouble recognizing the vehicularity of bicycles--or maybe it is just mentally jogging to see the combination of white, red and spinning orange lights. I've been congratulating myself on this mature safety-related purchase. However, the front white light doesn't seem to have exited "try me" mode that exists for in-package marketing. It's not a huge deal, because I already have a magnetic-induction light on my front hub, so whatever, I can turn this one on as it turns itself off. I'll see if I can fix it, or if Amazon will replace it.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Spoke Lights Are Useless, October 19, 2011

The white and red lights are great. Bright, easy to attach, 180-degree viewing angle. The white light gets kind of annoying since it's flashing in your periphery as you're riding. The red is nice and bright. The spoke lights are hard to install (on your spokes), dim, seem really heavy, and might make your wheel not true anymore. I opted to just put the stock reflectors back on.

There are instructions on every light to take it out of "Demo" mode, so do that before you ride otherwise you'll be switching them back on constantly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lights!!, September 20, 2011

For the price the lights are great!! They are more shatter proof than most bike lights and I just rode through a rain storm and tested their water resistance. The spoke lights are orange and yes they are not really bright, but isn't the idea just to be seen? They are more than bright enough to attract attention to any steering wheel slobbering drivers. I also don't understand how anyone could not turn off the TEST mode, every light came with a tag attached with clear instructions on how to switch it to user mode. All around wonderful, and if any die I'll buy the whole set again, as most bike lights are $10 for one light.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent. Orbits arent as bright as I want, October 16, 2010
This review is from: Cateye Loop & Orbit Commuter Kit (Sports)
These are cool. The loop lights are pretty good, the elastic band lets you put them wherever. The orbits just aren't as bright as i wanted though. So I'm going to return them and look at some super reflective spoke tape instead.
