Decent but not as good as the Nite Ize Spokelit,

I ordered these to try since I had already bought the Nite Ize Spokelits at Amazon a couple of months ago and really liked them. The Orbits work as advertised but are not as bright or easy to install as the Nite Ize Spokelits. They are also more expensive than the Spokelits. I have the red Spokelits and they are quite a bit brighter and seem to spread the light across the surface of the plastic body more than the Orbit. In the future I think I would stick with the Spokelit.

Not what I hoped for,

I sent these back for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, the lights came on in transit, so one of the batteries was already completely dead. Secondly, after seeing how bright my Planet Bike Blinky rear light is in comparison to this dim thing, I just didn't think these would offer any extra visibility. There is only one LED in each spoke light. I'm holding out for something really bright.

It's what I wanted, but...,

I ride very early in the morning to work (usually in the dark), and I'm always looking for ways to make myself more visible. So, I replaced my wheel reflectors with the Cateye Orbit Spoke Lights. And I really like them.
PROs: Easy to install; easy to turn on/off; pretty colors! ;) CONs: None yet. OTHER: (This is why I dinged them a Star) I guess this has to do with either packaging, or my inability to read labels (or something like that). You see, if you look at the packaging pic, it shows (to me anyway) 1 White & 1 Red, which is what I wanted (White for the front & Red for the back). But guess what? It's neither! It is really 2 kinda Orange/Red lights. Now, this is not a deal killer by any means for me. Just a little disconcerting. Otherwise, I really like them. Sure, you have to go through the initial "turning off the trial mode", but that's easy. What I really like is how "intelligent" they are. First push turns it solid, Second push turns it to blink, Third push turns it off (nothing new there, many do that). However, let's say you like Solid-mode. When you're done riding, you do not need to go through blinky-mode to get to off. If you are in any mode for more than a few seconds, your next push will turn it off. Nice.

I haven't actually used these lights yet. However, installing them was a snap. They have an on and a flash mode. Pretty cool to watch them spin at night.

Got Amber, Not Red and White,

I also ordered these based on the picture of one red and one white, but the item delivered is two amber lights. I stupidly put them on my bike to see how they looked anyway, so they're all dirty and I don't want to try to return them like that. Probably what will happen is I will use them until the batteries run out and then I'll buy the other ones.
I haven't tried them riding yet, but in spite of clashing with my red and silver bike, I think they'll work okay. And as noted in other reviews, they are really simple to use.

Nice Orange Spoke Lights,

Overall I'm very impressed with the build and quality of the light. I dont know if they come in other colors but mine are definitely orange, even though the picture on the box looks more red-like. I was lucky enough to try them out at REI, and since my bike is orange it seemed like a great fit. The product is very sturdy, I dont think I could break it if I tried. These lights glow pretty well throughout the entire plastic body. They add plenty of visibility to me as I mainly ride late in the evening at dusk. The goal of these lights is to glow and be seen (either to show off or announce your presence to oncoming traffic, OR BOTH), I dont know if people thought they were going to get blinding LEDs on their spokes but of course this is not the case.
Part of me wants to get a second set (2 lights on each wheel) to really light up my spinning wheel. People always ask me where I got them and I would definitly buy again PROS: Sturdy, battery Life is good, glow well throughout plastic body CONS: Orange/amber color may not be what people are looking for, Price is not exactly cheap (I paid $20 I think)

These lights are great for side visibility. They are not necessarily super bright, however they definitely make you visible especially as you are spinning your way down the street. Would buy again!

Best spoke lights,

Most lights don't throw enough lights to the sides. Spoke lights are a good, cheap addition to make yourself more visible and this is the one to buy! Orange stands out as a warning color, and is legal. Blue or red may not be, depending on your state. Think about it...what color are the lights on the side of your vehicle? I commute daily and highly recommend these lights. Nobody can miss that spinning motion at night. Be seen and stay alive!
