5.0 out of 5 stars Red Hot & Hardcore!
I hesitated to pay $50 for my first Cathe workout DVD - Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance - but it was so worth the money that I bought another one.

This DVD is a definate cardio challenge - it should seriously push any experienced persons limits. I was surprised how sore my legs were - especially my calves - without using heavy weights.

I would...

I did not find this workout easy to enjoy, and not just because it's difficult. The music is decent, but it's never going to be my favorite workout. I liked Cathe's HIIT workout, so I bought this one.

I would definately recommend having a cushioned surface to work-out on because there are a variety of jumping sets on this DVD. I found the cushioning really saves my knees and lower back and that I could jump higher. (I bought a 4x6 mat that breaks down into 2x2 squares and that has worked great.)

These $50 Cathe compilations give you so many exercise routine options that they are a super deal. Keep in mind that this is a solid cardio DVD - aerobics, step and cardio kick boxing - if you don't enjoy an hour of challenging cardio this would not be the Cathe DVD for you.

Although there is no price difference between Amazon and Cathe's website, when ordering through Amazon, the Cathe DVDs/Videos are shipped Priority Mail. On Cathe's website USPS is not an option so they won't ship to a PO Box. If you live outside the continental US their only shipping options are 1 or 2 day air so Amazon is a significant savings on the shipping if you live in Hawaii.

Cathe does not take the interpretation of "hardcore extreme" lightly. This DVD is hardcore in the most extreme form. It is for any fitness diva, or even dude, who is in dire need of a good, hard, effective workout. It's definetly not for the begginer.
I've noticed some serious results from this dvd combined with her Coremax dvd. I can't wait to get the others. I never get bored, and I am always sore and pumped up!

As I've said about Cathe in my other reviews, she's tough and always uses a no-nonsense approach. She is one of the best instructors there is and she's very motivating.
This workout is broken into three workouts from the most challenging segments from some of her other dvds. So therefore you may have seen some of these before, but it's going to be more challenging to your body because you are still 'shocking' the muscles when you do it in this new order. The first workout is aerobics/toning intervals, then a very high energy cardio, and then the last is tough step aerobics and kickboxing standing on the floor and off the step.
This will make you sweat. It's not for the unfit, and it's intense enough to do twice a week in conjunction with lighter cardio workouts. This is a great routine to do before a big event where you want to put your metabolism into high gear. I love it and do it (honestly enough) twice a month.

I already had almost all of the original DVD's that comprise this compilation. Still, it was great to get three new great workouts. I'm an advanced exerciser and have a hard time finding DVDs that are challenging enough. Cathe is one of my favorites and she always puts together really solid great sweat fests!

4.0 out of 5 stars layout awkward, workout perfect, May 26, 2011

I only labeled this a 4 star because of the layout. It's set up in the form of circiut training and you can choose I think up to 3 circuits but it's a combo of 4 different exercise videos. IMAX 3 which looks easy but it hurts (in a good way) it's a step video, Low Max is another step section, the High Step which is a combo of cardio bursts but mostly a weight/resistance workout (you will need a high steps, dumbbells and a resistance band, and the ultimate favorite Kick Max it's all blasts baby and it burns the lower body and amps the heart rate. The downside to this video is that it didn't include enough of the Kick Max. I'm going to look for this one seperately. I don't think you could be disappointed with Cathe's videos in general. She and her team has those cut muscles for a reason. If you've never owned a Cathe video & you're thinking of starting to invest in them you also will need a large stability ball, dumbells ranging between 5-12 lbs (or whatever you fancy, a barbell, resistance bands, a step, a high step and some of her newer videos include things like floor discs and pull up typed tools. Back to this video, ultimately I think this is a quailty video that will definitely work into your fitness rotation.
