Indepth Historical look at an Empress and a Woman,
By Diana L. Greenwood (Norco, Ca. United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Catherine the Portrait of an Empress (Selected Bibliographies Reprint Series) (Hardcover)
History buffs will not be disappointed. Reseachers will love the parallel between what historians have said about Catherine and how this book portrays her. Her life which led to the monikor "Catherine-the Great" is explained in detail and does not spare its subject. Instead, the woman's lusty personal life is pared down as indeed much has been said and attributed to this monarch that was simply not true. She was a product of the times and this book explains much, drawing the reader a clear picture to understand this volatile era in Russian history.
