What a great trip through both the history as well as the lives of the contemporary Cajun! I loved the character development, and how Monique fit both into the contemporary world and the historical world. Anyone with an interest in Cajun history, Cajun/Zydeco music, would love to read this! Heck - anyone would like to read it, regardless!

One thing I especially liked was the fact that even though it was written by two authors, it was written with "one voice." Often, when two authors write a work, you can tell that one wrote one part and the other wrote the other part. Not so with this one!

Read it - you'll love it!

You can tell a lot of research went into this novel! This is a "must read" for anyone who likes historical novels are is interested in Cajun, Canadian, or New England history. The characters are well developed; it is a pleasure to read about them, especially Monique, her mother, and the charming young Mariette!

A captivating novel that intertwines historical events with mystery and romance. A must read for anyone interested in Cajun history or those who enjoy creative writing. Can't wait for the second book by these two talented authors.

Since my husband & I both have cajun blood, I have always wanted to delve a little deeper into the history of how the cajun people ended up in Louisiana.

This book combines entertaining fiction with historical facts. If plain historical fact bores you, this book will not.

Excellent story. Imaginative story based on real events of history! My favorite kind of story. Illustrations are amazing!
