This tremendous little book is the third in a series by Father John Laux in his course in religion. Here, Father John deals with the terribly important issues relative to morality in light of Catholic Truth. In the terms of philosophia perennis, we could rightly say that this volume represents Father's perspective on ethics. Father Laux writes beautifully and soulfully. Anyone truly interested in the guidance of sound ethics and in the Catholic Faith would be well served by reading carefully this excellent and extremely well written book. TAN publishers of Rockford, Illinois have made it available in convenient up-to-date paperback format. Pick up a copy, and be both enriched and well informed by Father's wonderful book.

Like the other two books of this series I found it a wonderful refresher for a Catholic. I would not recommend it to someone who is trying to learn about the Catholic faith because this book is written for an instructor as a general outlin to a religious class. This causes a person who doesn't already know at least some of the Catholic faith to get confused quite quickly.

Laux's has provided insight into the authentic teachings of Catholic Morality. He begins with God's gift of "Free Will"; man's guide to follow God's Moral Law.

Even though this text was written in the 20's, the insightful way Laux presents the material is clear, concise and not too drawn out for young minds. The only complaints I have heard is that the current generation will miss all the colourful images that currently accompany texts of today. Personally, I love the written word and highly recommend this text and volumes 1 and 2 that proceed it. I personally was so inspired by the book I recently wrote a long review of it.

Number 3 in a Short Course in Religion. Even though the book is 80 years old it is still a good place to turn for a brief and basic coverage of the topic. Good for an intermediate primer. I would personally recommend it for children a little younger than the target High School audience, maybe 6th-7th grade. Supplemental material is needed to expand what is covered in the book, but that is stated in the book itself along with suggestions for further reading. The book succeeds in it's intended goal, a brief coverage of the topic to serve as a basis for class.

this book is written in a 1928 style, difficult to read for the average reader like me. I wanted to ntoe it was written with teaching in minc, apparently not for the student.

The transaction and shipment was fast. I didn't expect it to come in so soon and that's a good thing!
