By Wade Falcon (Lafayette, LA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Catholicism & Ethics Text: A Medical - Moral Handbook (Paperback)
This book provides a detail explanation of ethics in difficult 20th century situations that the church has a difficult time to discuss or cover. 1 - Natural ethics and moral are discussed and defined, 2 - morality and it's effects are detailed, 3 - many different applications are listed and examined sucha as principles relating to the origin of life such as contraception, prenatal testing, cloning, and more, the taking of life such as suicide abortion and more, and the presevation of life such aas plastic surgery, aids, organ transplantation. Extremely good ethical reference guide for today's Catholics.

Clear thinking,
By Bobby Bambino (Lebanon, NH United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Catholicism & Ethics Text: A Medical - Moral Handbook (Paperback)
All the books in this series are excellent. They are short and very readable. In Catholicism and Ethics, the authors use clear, logical thinking to lead the reader through a myriad of ethical issues, ranging from abortion to euthanasia to human cloning to hypnosis to body piercings. The authors define and use terminology from moral philosophy but continue to write in a readable manner. The authors also give plenty of examples and illustrations to bring all this theory to a practical realm. I can't stress enough how clear the thinking in this book is. We are BOMBARDED these days with sloppy, sloppy thinking, and it is so refreshing to read a book where the authors look carefully at a moral question, what the action is, what the consequences are, and spell out pertinent criteria. Numerous texts, such as Evangelium Vitae and Donum Vitae, are quoted (sometimes at great length) to confirm that the authors are relaying the true teaching of the Magesterium. Excellent book.
