Cathy Jean's music spans a wide range: blues, rock, and blues-rock, to jazz, funk, r&b, and gospel. With the exception of one covers album, most of Cathy's songs are originals written by her and drawn from her personal life experiences. "In the Remains" is her 4th album produced by Cathy Jean and Grammy winning producer Bob Dawson, and her 1st album mastered by Grammy winning engineer Ted Jensen.
Cathy Jean is from Baltimore, Maryland. Born into an abusive but musical family, she started singing, playing guitar, piano, and song-writing at a very young age. She recorded on her first professional album at age 9. Since then she has continued to persevere, recording and gigging individually as well as in bands with outstanding musicians. Inspired early on by various women in rock, Ms. Jean was then introduced to the blues. It was this introduction as a teen that led to her love and respect of the genre.
