5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful product for ethnic hair
I am African American and this is an absolutely wonderful product for our hair. It has made my hair very soft, frizz free and there is less damage from my flat iron and curling iron.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware the hair loss
This stuff was initially a 5 star for me, I recommended it to a friend, my mom, and my sister. A few months of using it and my always thick and long hair starts shedding like crazy. At first I had no idea what the cause was. I've had thick hair for 24 years and nothing of the sorts has ever happened. I don't use a lot of products so after changing shampoos, I quickly...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best!, February 12, 2007

My mother is in the cosmetics/hair products industry, so I have gotten to try many different expensive leave-on hair treatments. Nothing comes close to Silk Infusion. I have long hair, a bit on the dry side, but everytime I use this product, just a quarter, the comb slides effortlessly through. In addition, when the hair dries, I don't have "sticky", "solidified", or heavy hair sections to deal with. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product!, July 6, 2006
My hairstylist referred this product to me after she noticed alot of frizziness and breakage in my hair. This serum has worked beautifully to restore my hair back to health! It makes my hair very shiny and gives it a nice smell! After I shower I put a dime size of this in my hair and massage it through. After I comb my hair out I use "Chi's" Straight Guard. It acts like a gel or mouse. Its great too! After my hair has dried and I have used the straightening iron I finish my hair off with "Chi's" Shine Infusion. The shine infusion acts like a polisher. Its terric too! I recommend all of Chi's products to anyone!!!

I am just amazed with the CHI Silk Infusion. I got it a couple of days ago and i can already feel the difference. Before, with my old iron and hair serums my hair looked fried and there were tons of split ends. Now that i have been using this product along w/ the CHI iron and the Shine Infusion spray my hair looks better than ever. I love to straighten it out now b/c i know that i am going to be happy w/ the results and my hair is going to be fabulous. I highly recommend it...you will be amazed!!!!

I LOVE this stuff! I have medium-long African American hair that is sometimes pretty dull after washing or getting a relaxer (basically, when it is stripped of moisture). I sometimes get the annoying static and fly-aways. I'd been having a difficult time finding products that help with shine, but don't weigh the hair down - until I found this product! After washing my hair, I distributed a small amount throughout my wet hair before blow-drying and flat ironing, and the end result was hair that was shiner and bouncier than I'd ever seen it. No static or fly-aways. This was achieved without that greasy look and feel that some products may give you. However, it does have an oily consistency, so you do have to be careful about using too much of this product. Otherwise, it WILL give you that greasy, stiff look that we all dread. The directions say specifically to use a small amount and comb throughout hair, so you definitely want to follow those directions to avoid greasiness and hair that doesn't move. Because of this product's consistency, a little goes a long way.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, June 30, 2008

This product works for many needs. It's a great heat protector if you blow dry and straighten like I do. It leaves hair looking a feeling very silky and soft, and it doesn't weight the hair down or all, or feel sticky or leave a residue. It also helps w/ frizz.

DON'T apply too much, or near the top of your head or it will look very greasy. Less is more, as w/ most CHI products. Apply most of it to the ends.

My only complaint is the smell. It smells like men's cologne. But the smell doesn't "stay", so I don't mind. But that's just my opinion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware the hair loss, January 5, 2011

This stuff was initially a 5 star for me, I recommended it to a friend, my mom, and my sister. A few months of using it and my always thick and long hair starts shedding like crazy. At first I had no idea what the cause was. I've had thick hair for 24 years and nothing of the sorts has ever happened. I don't use a lot of products so after changing shampoos, I quickly realized it was this chi keratin. After a few clarifying (read: stripping) treatments, hair loss slowed and now thankfully stopped.
My mom and sister and friend all had the same experience. My theory is that the Keratin blocks the hair follicle/roots and the hair just sorta of dies. Mind you I never put it on my roots, I just rubbed it randomly all over.

My final rec: Dont do it. My gorgeous mid back length hair is now stringy and sad. As am I.

5.0 out of 5 stars chi silk infusion by farouk, June 26, 2008
I have had my hair japanese straightened. I am in the 3 inch of natural growth --(curly roots) with stick straight ends --stage. Not a good stage. Getting the new growth straight takes serious time. Chi product in your hair not only cuts the time it takes to straighten the roots but keeps it pin straight for days! Your hair is much silkier and much flatter than if you do not use a product before you use a flatiron.

Also, I happened to burn myself (on a lean cuisine) microwavable diner, when I removed it from the microwave at work. The only thing I had with me to put on the burn was a sample of Chi Silk Infusion. Since it says on the bottle for hair and skin, I put it on the burn, and the red streaks were gone in about 1/2 hour and it stopped hurting in about 5 minutes!

Though this was not a use the product was indicated for, I think, in a pinch, it worked just fine!
