My cat was a little leary at first about this thing, but now that she has warmed up to it, she's addicted.
Also, the company I purchased this from really came through for me. I didn't realize I was only ordering the dome of the whole contraption so, I planned to send it back and get it elsewhere. But, when they (Wordly Pets) heard my reason for wanting to return, they told me not to fret, just send back the dome and they'd send me a whole unit.
Within 2 weeks, they did and I could not be more happy with the transaction and how positive my cat reacts to this little thing

Good stuff

We purchased a replacement dome for the water fountain we orginally bought from Petsmart. We have three cats and the oldest was not drinking as much as she should so our vet recommended a water fountain. Not only do they all like this but the older cat has taken to sleeping next to it. The product works well and is easy to use just be careful when replacing the full dome as it can slip and crack if you don't dry it first which is why we had to buy a replacement dome.

Our Jorja will sit at the water bowl until she has splashed every drop of water out! This model of Catit prevents her from doing this!! Unfortunately they no longer make it!!!

My cats love the CatIt fountain, they drink more water than they used to ... which is good for their kidneys. The product is a nice design and works very well. It is very quiet, no motor noise at all. It is a little more involved to clean thoroughly than some other fountains but I've tried others and not found them to work as well or hold as much water, many are not as easy to refill.

The design of this fountain is different - unlike the other pet fountains out there. Although its a little bit of a pain to have to fill the water bowl, its lasted longer than any pet fountain that I have had the past few years.

Some tips:
1) Make sure you clean the unit at least twice a month as calcium building will appear in the impeller of the water pump.
2) If you have any problems with the unit drawing water, look for pet hair building up in the water pump near the impeller casing
3) If the pump seems to be going slow, take the impeller stem out and clean the calcium building around the stem. If it appears stuck, use sandpaper and gently remove the building. Wash the residue and replace.
4) Twice a month remove the bowl and clean inside/outside as it gets yucky after a while.
5) Replace the water filter once a month too.

Overall, this is a nice product. If you take care of the unit, it will last a long time.

I got this device and my cat's loved it right off the bat, though one day I was carrying grocery bags in the kitchen with long handles and the bags slid the fountain out in front of me and I couldn't see it so I stepped on it and water went every where. I thought I had completely destroyed the thing, but just the resevoir broke in half hence 3 liters of water on the kitchen floor with some water in the dome. My fault though, I was still angry at myself that I caused this huge mess because of this fountain. Pretty funny to me now as I shouldn't have put that thing in my small kitchen in the beginning. I've been using it for over a year now after replacement parts arrived. Now to the nitty gritty. The valve that allows water to circulate does't work with out daily assistance from me. If it worked well I would only have to mess with the fountain once a week for my two cats. Now with all of the problems I have had with this unit I probably don't know how to set all of the small parts that need to be taken apart for cleaning. I am going to try one more dome to see If maybe a new dome that has not been taken apart for cleaning will work better. Oh, yes don't put the dome in the dishwasher it will be ruined and then the new dome will need to be cleaned specially in the summer. Be sure to replace filters as needed not just at 3 week intervals that will help keep the foutain clean. Anyway the reason I still use this thing is for my cats. They love it and they cry if the fountain needs attention, so I have just taken to checking the fountain every day to help it along. Cat's really are addicted to running water so it is worth the effort. Once they get used to it you really can't go back to a water bowl as they will not drink as much water out of a bowl as they will off of the dome. Go ahead and get one and have fun if the preceeding sounds like fun to you.

This was for the bowl only which was great because I had broke mine earlier in the week.

The drinking dome arrived cracked. It was packaged poorly. The box the product came in was larger than the shipping box. There was no bubble wrap or cushion to prevent damage. I e-mailed the company twice without any satisfaction. Finally I called and was told a new one would be shipped and a label would be included to return the damaged product. The new dome was packaged properly and arrived in perfect condition. There was however, no return label for the damaged one.
