The Institute is named for Cato's Letters, a series of libertarian pamphlets that helped lay the philosophical foundation for the American Revolution.

This is the Cato Institute's official blog. No buzzers or whistles, but good, solid reporting. All the content from the online version is here. Updates usually several times a day. Definitely worth the price and is a great, entertaining and informative read.

I have read the various Cato blogs on the internet and always appreciate their perspective on the current news. Their point of view gives a consistent context that generally transcends party politics and gives fresh meat for thought. Among Kindle blogs its also a good deal with a new daily list of articles for only 99 cents a month. You also get info on new books published by Cato, an option Ive found useful. If you're already aware of Cato this Kindle version is worth the price. If you are not, but like a reasoned, historical, pointed digest on current events you should try it.
