About the Author

When author Kate Ledger and her husband adopted Ion and Miss Irene, the book's feline models, they soon realized the animals had much to teach them about building a lasting relationship. Kate earned an M.F.A. degree in fiction from the University of Arizona and is working on her first novel. Photographer Lisa Sachs received an M.F.A. degree in photography from Yale University and has shown her artwork in galleries in New York and Paris. She works as a freelance photographer in Washington, D.D. The sisters-in-law both live in Maryland.

Sisters-in-law Kate Ledger and Lisa Sachs present The Dogs' Book of Romance as the much-awaited follow-up to their successful debut, The Cats' Book of Romance. Currently at work on a novel, Kate holds an M.F.A. in fiction from the University of Arizona. Lisa, a graduate of Yale's master of fine arts program in photography, has shown her art in galleries in New York and Paris. She works as a freelance photographer in Washington, D.C.

I have to start off by saying that my partner and I are HUGE cat lovers. We share our lives with 6 rescued felines who have found their way into our hearts and home at different points throughout our relationship and marriage. When Kate Ledger shared this book with us, knowing how much we love cats it was a very special moment.

This book really is beautiful in so many ways. It's tender, simple and breaks through barriers of gender ... in fact, it does not take gender into account which is such a nice thing these days when dealing with simple gift books about romance. The Cats' Book of Romance fits all sorts of relationships no matter who you are as a couple. We really, really appreciated that.

For those who love cats and those who love and cherish each other - this is a book that blends that love for each other symbolized through two adorable cats. The pictures are expressive and beautiful and the sentiments are simple and meaningful. The is a book meant to be gifted, shared and lived.

Next time, grab a rose and this book and show your partner just how much you cherish them through the simple things. Love is simple.

This lovely little book is the perfect gift for friends, family, and yourself. The authors combine words and pictures with wit and wisdom, and the artful felines embody sensuality and fun. Keep this book nearby to lift the spirits when feeling blue.

My husband and I received this book as a gift, and are inspired to order copies for people we know who will be touched and amused by it. The topic is romance but the message is love. It was easy to award it five purrs--I mean stars.
