About the Author
Frees was born in 1879. His family settled in Oaks, and it was that Harry developed his professional work. He remained there until the early 1940s when, after the death of his parents he moved to Florida. Suffering fron cancer he committed suicide in 1953 and was buried in a pauper's grave at Clearwater cemetry.

Amazing photographs,

This is an extraordinary collections of photos. Frees did not harm or mistreat his subjects and insisted they were not drugged. His talent was remarkable and yet he died penniless and was buried in a pauper's grave. His intuition about when to snap his shutter and his mother's hand made costumes make this a delightful snapshot into the life of a reclusive artist who committed suicide at the age of 74 (he had cancer).

I thought this would be in story format, but it is just a collection of some of Whitter's best photos. It is great and my daughter loves the pictures.
