Miracles happen on Halloween., October 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cat's Meow (Mass Market Paperback)
The ad read, "To persons of good character. Free feline to stable home. Chosen applicants will be given $10,000 to begin a new business." This book is like one story with four branches. Enclosed is four short stories about four special cats. Every story has the same Mistress and her cats. Every time a cat chooses someone with a need. All stories include magic, surprises, the love of a cat, and the miracles that are possible ONLY ON HALLOWEEN. A little white magic never hurt anyone. *Wicked Grin.* I enjoyed spending a night curled up with this book. I often looked up to stare at my own two cats and wonder. Hmmm...

This review is from: The Cat's Meow (Mass Market Paperback)
It is a pleasant and sweet book. I really like the character Gisella Lowell and most of the others. I have a love for cats and romances so this was the book for me. I suggest any cat and romance lovers out there to read this sweet and enchanting book!

The Cat's Meow, September 14, 2005
This review is from: The Cat's Meow (Mass Market Paperback)
Back cover reads:
TO PERONS OF GOOD CHARACTER, FREE FELINE TO STABLE HOME
The ad seemed perfect for what Gisella Lowell, an eccentric Bostonian gypsy, intended. While the newspaper ad offered only the possible adoption of four adorable cats, Gisella's plans were a whisker more complex: four individual tales of magic and romance
As the October nights grew chill and the winds howled, four couples would cuddle before their hearths, protected from the things that go bump in the night. While outside, children frolicked and tripped from door to door, the lovers would sample tricks and treats of their own--learning that unwrapping candy wasn't the best thing about the holiday. And by Halloween, each would realize that they had been rewarded with the most fulfilling gift of all: a warm, affectionate feline. And, of course, true love.

Big disappointment,more about witchcraft than cats/romance, February 26, 2003
This review is from: The Cat's Meow (Mass Market Paperback)
I happen to like sweet and funny romances including animals as pets, but this book was a huge disappointment. For instance, the stories included one about a cat who was a person/witch in cat form, caused by a spell from an evil woman. It was ridiculous to me. This book was more about fantasy/witchcraft than about cats. I found it to be disturbing overall, as it was more scary/unpleasant than it was romantic. In other ways it just seemed silly. I am not opposed to stories about witchcraft,in general, but these stories seemed to be more about spells and evil-doers than about romance and kitties. Not my "cup of tea." I discarded this one.
