This island is truly beautiful! My husband assembled it in a few hours - less than some others said. I have spent quite a bit of time applying oil and sanding it - both before we used it and regularly since then. I think it will take several months before it's fully "seasoned". It would have been better to treat it with mineral oil before assembling - especially for the interior and sides. I wish the drawer was a bit deeper, but that would eat into the cabinet space. When the drop leaf is down, the drawer contents can cause the drawer to pop open a bit. Overall it was well worth the money!

It took about 2 1/2 hours to build because the directions are NOT user friendly - the pieces are not labeled, the wording is confusing, and the pictures are not helpful. However, once we had it built, it looked great! The main drawer is shallower than it looks in the picture and it doesn't have the smoothest opening/closing, but the depth of the cabinets allows for tons of storage.
