OK. SO, here is the product description taken straight from the Amazon product page:

The absolute reality is cheap press board with some sort of plastic laminate. I chose this product after much shopping because of its materials. I had planned to paint it to match the rooms decor. It definitely cannot be painted. It is not wood. And, within the first 30 seconds of putting it together, one of the dowels stripped out and fractured the materal. This is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP piece crap. If you're looking to spend money on this sort of thing - go to ikea. You'll find something of the same quality or better for at least half the price.

This box is a good size, well-made, and the safety hinge is great for my toddler who opens and closes it himself.

With limited space, and many sneakers, golf shoes, flip flops etc. We use this as a 'boot box' out side our door.
The four neighbors in our building all ordered one. We look very uniform now!
It's really not an 'outdoor' box, but we could not find one, so we don't mind replacing the box every 4 years if it does not hold up.

I use this bench to store winter hats, gloves, scarves, etc. And it serves a dual purpose in my utility room for sitting and putting on/taking off shoes or boots. It assembled nicely and is very sleek looking. It matches my white beadboard cabinets. Thought it was a very reasonable price for the quality and the overall look.
