4.0 out of 5 stars Glaciers in the Catskills!
Anyone who is interested in geology and the Catskill Mountains region will find this book fun. The author is almost passionate about the glaciers and
related processes that determined the landscape of this area. I used this book successfully to visit some of the sites he talks about, and it worked well. I only wish it was longer and more detailed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Robert Titus' "The Catskills In the Ice Age"
This book is one that I am required to read for a class this year (earth science, of course). I find that it is rather boring and think that the author doesn't explain the geological terms very well. I'm also not liking this book because I have to write quarterly reports about it, but that's another story entirely. Though it is a somewhat difficult reading level...

This book is one that I am required to read for a class this year (earth science, of course). I find that it is rather boring and think that the author doesn't explain the geological terms very well. I'm also not liking this book because I have to write quarterly reports about it, but that's another story entirely. Though it is a somewhat difficult reading level because of the ambiguously defined terms, this book would be goodfor someone with a more extensive knowledge of geology than I have. Its companion volume, The Catskills: A Geological Guide is aother one you may want to consider purchasing along with it if you nbuy this one.
