This book is not only fun but contains a ton of great information. It has a list of names that you can name your cats or even kids! It gives alot of information in spells dealing with healing, love, goodluck, weather ect. Example of some of the material is : To Tell a Rain spirit is near: When your cat rolls upon her back, and claws playfully at the grass, twitching her tail and turning up her eyes in skittish humour,you may discern from her behavior that a rain spirit is dancing thereabouts,and will soon appear in corporeal form as swiftly-falling, drenching shower. This book is adorable and worth the 4.00!

If you're interested in working spells with cats, this is the book for you. The most the spells require is a whisker from your cat (You won't be hurting him/her.) The book covers brief history on cats from ancient to now. Fun to read and allows you to spend more time with your cat!

I absolutely adore this little book. I bought it many years back when I could still have cats (at this time I cannot due to lease requirements *pout*) and although I miss my cats greatly, at least I still have this book to keep my memory going. I used it to help name my last two cats and lo and behold, they actually helped to name themselves! The title is a bit deceptive, as there are not a lot of spells in the book - it is more lore, legend and the like, but if you are a cat lover, or owned by cats, you will love this book.

This will be the second copy of this book that I have purchased!!I have never attempted any of the spells, but the book itself is just so...cozy.The artwork is beautiful.I don't know how to put it but if the title is interesting to you in the first place you will love it just for what it is.Whimsical and enchanting as well as full of some intereting information.

A book from the early 1800's (very limited distribution) described a plethora of cat related spells and rituals, most of the spells in this little book are modernized versions from that book, though still authentic. It's a good book, I have not found anything useful in it yet, but it is an enjoyable read for cat lovers.

I have found this book to be very interesting and love the part of naming your cat.

Claire Nahmad is a great author who has this writing style that makes you feel like you've been taken back to Victorian England. Her book of Cat Spells is a wonderful book for those who love cats, magick, or both :) Most spells only call for something like the discarded fur or whiskers, or the presence of your cat. I recommend it highly.

She begins with an introduction of the magickal history of the cat: their omens, worship, and also their torture and torment. Cat Naming Spells come next, with a wide variety of names from folklore and mythology. Spells are given for naming and blessing your "familiar", or cat that will be working with you in your magickal workings. The next chapter deals with healing spells, such as healing a broken bone or toothaches, to give some examples. I would've liked to see some spells for healing your pets, rather than just humans, but all is alright. Spells for Love and Enchantments come next. These include spells to see spirits, and the loveletter cat spell, where your cat accompanies you on your walk to mail a letter to your loved one.Spells for good luck are briefly covered, and so are weather spells, and then Faery spells are included, which is my favourite part of the book! ^_^ There are only two Faery spells, one being the Northern Lights Faery Spell and the other being the Faery Cordial. All the spells in this book are practical and very workable, given your cat goes along with it ^_^ I would've liked to see more material covered, but there are few other cat magick books so this inexpensive book is definitely worth picking up.

Well I did enjoy reading this book. But there's one thing I didn't really care for in this book, it kept referring to the person that reads the book as a she instead of (he/she), because there are guys who actually read these books (I being one of them). The naming thing is kinda cute, but the book is very short and half of the book is made up of the names on what to name your cat. This book is nothing special I suggest you look for another book to buy.

This is an interesting book on cat and kid's names that mean magical things.
