The Cattleman's English Rose by Barbara HannayHarlequin Romance # 3841 - April 2005 Book 1 - Southern Cross Ranch Kane and Reid return home to the ranch after weeks out in the outback to find that their sister, Annie, has gone on a spur of the moment holiday to the big city. With Annie gone this leaves the two brothers stuck without someone to look after the ranch house and do the cooking. Reid leaves it up to Kane to find a housekeeper. While in town, Kane runs into Charity who has come from England to find her younger brother. Tim had worked for Kane, and Charity is certain that he knows how to find him. Kane keeps reassuring her that Tim is fine, but Charity wants proof. So Kane hires Charity on as housekeeper so that he can keep her underwraps. Seems Tim is in trouble and Charity's sudden appearance puts them all at risk. It took abit for this story to take off. Kane's reputation of die-hard bachelor has Charity hiding her feelings. Kane thinks life in the outback would be too lonely for Charity so he denies his feelings. Of course, it all works out in the end.
