5.0 out of 5 stars Come back into print...
I personally just found out that this book is out of print. When I was a kid I loved to read about Julis the catwitch. I just started to think about this book the other day mainly because I am tending a young child, and I think that she needs to experience the book Catwitch because I loved it so much. I am hoping that this book will come back into print so all of us...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mislead.
The book is great, but the dust jacket was missing a chunk which I don't think meets the standard "very good condition" as was claimed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Art, Wonderful Story, Tough Kitty, May 6, 2001
This review is from: Catwitch (Hardcover)
I have loved this book since I was a child and I still love to read it. Woodruff's Art is Great, you could spend hours just staring at the illustrations. I especially recommend this book to Pagan parents who want to read their child a story that doesn't paint witches as the malevolent brides of satan that many tend to hold. This woudl be a great way to warm your child up to the realm of fairy and magic in general.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Jules Went In Search of Life...", January 12, 2007

Catwitch is the best book ever written. It may look like a children's book with its pictures of talking cats and horses and faeries, but it is a book that can enjoyed by adults and children alike. I started reading this as a library copy when I was very young, probably five or six, but I'm twenty one now, and it was out of print by the time I found it. Luckily, a few weeks agao, I managed to buy a used copy here on Amazon. The book was absolutely everything I remembered, and now, being older, I can appreciate it on a different level.

The book follows the adventures of Jules, a small kitten in search of life, who becomes apprenticed to a witch, Eva Eden. Eva is a former actress, who needs to perform the great spell in order to restore herself to her former glory. The problem is that she needs alicorn and can't remember what it is. Jules finds out, but it's too late, the alicorn has been stolen by a rival warlock, and Eva's landlord, Alexander Wylie. The ending of the book is beautiful and hopeful, the illustrations are gorgeous and the story is just wonderful. I really don't have the words to say enough good things about this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A lifelong Favorite, June 21, 2002

This review is from: Catwitch (Hardcover)
...I've had it as long as I can remember, and have always loved it.
The art is gorgeous, and the story is fun.
It's nice to see a story with a witch in it who isn't that sterriotypical evil old hag. Plus, the small details about witches, mostly true!
I cannot highly recomend this book enough! It will defanetly entice the imagination.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only childrens book I took to college, November 21, 1999

I actually have a memory of going to the book store and buying this book... I was in kindergarten and I fell in love with it the second I opened it and saw the pictures. It was my first chapter book although I didn't notice as the pictures kept me inthrawled and the wonderful story went on and on. Over the years it has been read a hundred time taken from the shelf anytime I needed a smile. And when I went to college it was the one children's book I took with me. And one which i still delight in showing friends. I have looked for another copy of this book for ages, in hopes of giving it to a young cousin.... and if ever there was a book that deserves to be rescued from its out of print status this is it. No one reading this book could every be disapointed. The story is captivating and the illistrations so incredible you often find yourself mearly turning pages trying to identify which is your favorite

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite childhood book, May 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Catwitch (Hardcover)
As a little kid about ten years ago, I adored this book more than any other I've ever read. The story sounds a little cheesy - a cat joins forces with a misunderstood old witch to save the town from evil - but it is beautifully told and even more beautifully illustrated, with the sort of deep, intricate illustrations you can get lost in (especially as an eight-year-old). It's out of print and I haven't been able to find it in years; if you have it, consider yourself lucky, and save it as a treasure for your own children.

This is personally one of my favorite children's books. I grew up reading this book, and not only is it a creative and unique children's story, but the illustrations are absolutely amazing. I recently ordered it as a Nostalgic gift for a friend, and she loves it as well. If you know someone who likes cats or magic, this is the perfect gift for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Catwitch - magical beyond belief, February 11, 2005
This review is from: Catwitch (Hardcover)
This is one of my most favourite books from my childhood. The story of Jules the cat is compelling and magical, and the illustrations are breath taking. At the age of 10, only 4 years after the book was published i discovered this book at my local library and after 12 years of wishing for a copy i found one.
I would not hesitate for one minute on recommending this book to anyone. It has the ability to capture the hearts of anyone of any age, once read it can't be put put down.
