Product Description

Manufacturer Description

The fat rats of Gotham City are scurrying for cover--Catwoman is on the prowl, and out to sink her claws into their scruffy hides. KEMCO's debut of DC Comic's coolest cat on Game Boy Color is giving Batman fans and action gamers something big to howl about.

The first thing you'll notice when you plug in this Pak is the emphasis on intuitive, easy-to-learn game play. Catwoman features plenty of incredible flying kicks and punches, but you don't have to break your thumbs figuring out a bunch of complicated button commands. Learning to crush the bad guys is as easy as batting around a ball of string. Of course, fur-flying action is only part of the fun--if you want to keep your nine lives, you'll have to rely on cat-like stealth and cunning. Think like a feline and you'll find your way into seemingly inaccessible areas, places Gotham hoodlums would never expect to find you...until it's too late. Meow.

Product Description

Cartridge Only CATWOMAN leaps onto the Game Boy Color in her first action game. Batman's feline foe has been contracted by an evil organization to steal a precious artifact, which they intend to use as part of a weapon. After snatching the goods, Catwoman decides that she'd rather keep it, and the organization sends out their goons to convince her otherwise. As the name suggests, you play as Catwoman Batman's feline nemesis as she whips, jumps, and claws her way through nine side-scrolling stages. The levels take place in a number of different environments, such as museums and jungles, and are infested with bad guys looking to prove there's more than one way to skin a cat. You'll have to fight them off with Catwoman's wide array of attacks, including her whip and claw assaults. The story is played out through detailed comic-book style cutscenes, giving you that authentic Batman feel. CATWOMAN includes a password save so you can take a break from the whip-cracking action. This game is only compatible with Game Boy Color.

5.0 out of 5 stars So fun...it hurts..., July 24, 2000

This is the very first game that I bought for my Game Boy, and it is my favorite. Catwoman is just so cool and I am glad that she has a little something that I can sink my teeth into. First off the graphics are really decent, which is a big plus. And the game is just overall really quite fun. On the downside play control can be a bit tiresome, sometimes Catwoman would much rather do a forward flip rather than use her whip. Also the "enemy" characters don't "die"(which in the end is good) but some characters are really tough and if they get the upper hand then you are goners. So, in my opinion, this is a great game and if you like Catwoman and own a Game Boy then do yourself a favor and buy it!

If you like fighting games, you'll love this game! It us fairly easy to play (though at times I did get lost in the sort of mazes they have.) There are different levels--and your goal isto reclaim a cat statuetaken by Cyber Cat and Ra Ghoul.

2.0 out of 5 stars WHAT HAPPENED?!!!, December 25, 2002
This review is from: Catwoman (Game Cartridge)
In an effort to sabotage Catwoman's reputation, Vatical and Kemco conspired to create of one the worst video games imaginable so that no developer would ever touch her liscence again.
Before I played this game, I was hoping for a playing style similar to Batman: The Video Game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Unfortunately, what I got was a clunky, barely playable insult to one of my favorite DC heroes/villains. Not only is Selena Kyle unable to attack while air-borne, she can't even move when she's not on the ground. Okay, so you can swing across ceilings, but that's the extent of it. The gameplay is monotonous and the animation is poorly done, not even exceptable by South Park standards. If there is one thing Catwoman can do that others can't in their own games, it's sidestep into the background.
I hope this [game] doesn't discourage developers from making a newer, much better game starring the infamous cat burgaler.
