Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Gamers will control Catwoman as they play the movie, utilizing her unique cat-like skills, senses and cunning to defeat her enemies.

Boasting incredible acrobatic skills, the video game Catwoman can leap across roofs, run up walls, pounce on prey, utilize unique "cat senses," and avoid enemy bullets with feline grace. In addition, she can use her whip to swing through the air and utilize the fully interactive enviroments to trap or knock her foes unconscious.

Catwoman is based upon the DC Comics character. The film and game follow the story of Patience Phillips played by Halle Berry, who is killed after she uncovers a dark secret held by her employers. Brought back to life by a rare Egyptian cat, she becomes Catwoman and sets out to discover the truth about herself and her murderer.

The game will take players through numerous levels set in six different locations from the movie, including the jewelery store, the Hedare Factory, and Hedare's mansion and grounds. Gamers will encounter all the key characters from the movie, including three challenging bosses: Armando, Hedare's head bodyguard; Wesley, the evil and twisted Hedare henchman and Laurel Hedare, the beautiful face behind the cosmetics empire.

Features:

  • Play the Film: Featuring Halle Berry, control Catwoman and follow the movie storyline throughout the game.
  • Toy With The Enemies: Catwoman toys with her enemies, making them run scared, and trapping them by using her tools and the environment around her before defeating them with cat-like grace.
  • The Power Of The Whip: Catwoman can use her whip to throw or topple objects; smash breakable items; trigger interactive objects remotely; climb, descend and swing from structures; and even rescue herself from incredible 'death fallsÓ in the rooftop levels.
  • Cat Like Movement: With incredible acrobatic skills, Catwoman will move and jump with feline prowess, leaping across roofs, running up walls, pouncing on prey, and avoiding enemy bullets.
  • Cat Senses: Players will view the world from a feline point of view and utilize unique cat attributes that allow Catwoman to change the odds to her advantage. These powers enable her to see in the dark (unlike her foes) and hunt her prey by seeing footprints and smelling trails that reveal where they have been and what they have done. Catwoman can also use her ÒSixth SenseÓ to establish threats around her and even predict what her enemy may do next.
  • Become A Wild Cat: Unleash Catwoman's "feral" side Ð move faster, hit harder, and completely dominate her prey.

1.0 out of 5 stars Look at what the cat dragged in., April 17, 2005
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Catwoman (Video Game)
I rented the game expecting the worst, seeing as movie-based games are usually less than satisfying. I just wanted to get some laughs out of it, and ended up turning it off after an hour of frusteration.

Pros-

*The graphics were very impressive. I love how everything is all dark and dirty. It definitely gives the game a certain feel to it.

*Apparently Catwoman gets bored as you stand idle, so she breaks into an oh-so-suggestive cutscene, where she begins licking herself and dancing. Simply hilarious!

Cons-

*Awful camera angles. You have no choice but to blindly trot about and endure the witty cat puns.

*The witty cat puns.

*Dull, repetitive gameplay. I was hoping for something at least a LITTLE more complicated than holding down R and tilting C so Catwoman can do an endless array of martial arts moves.

*Maybe I'm just cruddy at gaming, but the whole time I played this game I had no idea what the heck I was supposed to be doing. The little captions at the bottom only tell you so much, so, basically, I was left just going around in circles. Even the first level was a chore.

*The fun-kay music.

So, basically, this is for people who are willing to plop down on the couch and sit through tedious missions involving kicking police officers into dumpsters. If you aren't one of those people, I'd suggest seeking something a little less patience-searing.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Catwoman (Video Game)
Well, this game sucks. There is no denying it. But, I do not regret buying it. The overall gameplay is very good, but some things muddle it up a bit. For instance, the terrible camera angles. Half of the time, you can't even see catwoman, so you are doing pointless guesswork as to where you need to go. Also, the levels are confusing! I had to get a walkthrough for this game, not something I do very often. The fighting is pretty repetitive, you just hold L and move the C stick in the direction you want to kick someone. One thing I do like about this game, though, is the fact that you can't kill people. You have to throw them in a dumpster or they never stop trying to hurt you. I am starting to prefer that instead of all-out murder. Another thing I like about this is the good graphics. Okay, one last thing before I let you go! You can swing form poles, climb mesh, swing from your whip, and basically do everything catwoman does. Overall, this game is good.
