5.0 out of 5 stars FOR A NATURALLY RADIANT COMPLEXION

Few things announce "old" more clearly than those dreaded brown spots on hands, arms and, perhaps worst of all, on your face. While there are a plethora of products that promise to "erase" those telltale signs, many of them tend to remove pigment from the skin, leaving white areas. Other products come with warnings to keep away from the eyes or not to use on...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special...
I first used this product about 3 years ago when I had nice skin, except a few dark spots, which was the primary reason I used it. My skin did look more dewy but it didn't brighten my skin or fade the dark spots;and I did use the whole bottle.

Then a few years later, I bought it again because I wanted this product to work so bad since it had glowing reviews...

5.0 out of 5 stars FOR A NATURALLY RADIANT COMPLEXION, April 18, 2005
This review is from: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (Misc.)

Few things announce "old" more clearly than those dreaded brown spots on hands, arms and, perhaps worst of all, on your face. While there are a plethora of products that promise to "erase" those telltale signs, many of them tend to remove pigment from the skin, leaving white areas. Other products come with warnings to keep away from the eyes or not to use on sensitive skin.

Caudalie's Radiance Serum evens out pigmentation and, as it is free of preservatives and colouring agents, it may be safely used around the eye area and on sensitive skin. I was amazed at how quickly there was a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin, from the reduction of the intensity of brown spots to a more radiant complexion. There is absolutely no sign of "bleaching" the skin but rather a uniformity of skin tone.

Using the Serum is as easy as one-two-three. Simply apply a dropper-full each morning and evening to the troublesome areas then gently massage until the Serum is completely absorbed. This only takes a few seconds, then follow with moisturizer of choice.

If you're going to be in the sun, do remember to use a sun screen (especially on hands).

5.0 out of 5 stars a pleasant surprise, October 24, 2008

This review is from: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (Misc.)
After many years of purchasing skin care products that make claims to fade hyperpigmentation and have them do nothing- or as a result of use, make my melasma WORSE- I was skeptical about buying this product. I read the reviews, researched the ingredients, and thought I would give it a try. To my surprise and delight, my melasma began fading after ONE application. [!!!] The more nights that passed using this product, the more I saw a reduction in my sun damage. I am using Retin-A as well, which is an aggressive skin exfoliator, and this serum puts moisture back in my skin and augments the fading effects of the Retin-A. I cannot report how this product works completely on its own: however, when I am giving my skin a 'break' from Retin-A, the Radiance Serum continues to fade my brown areas and even out my skin tone. So it actually does what it claims to do! It has a light, fluid texture, and smells divine. One drop is sufficient to treat the entire face and neck, which takes the 'sting' out of its price point. Apply product to freshly washed, damp skin; distribute the drop between your palms; press into your face. I follow with my moisturizer half an hour after using the Serum if I am extra-dry. The Serum absorbs beautifully into the skin, and does not cause my oily skin to feel greasy or disturb my makeup.
The skin tone of my entire face has become more even and fresher-looking. I was honestly taken totally off guard by how effective this product is. I will gladly purchase it again. [And don't forget- full spectrum sunscreen, every day! If you have fair skin like I do, re-apply your sunblocking agent in the middle of the day, as sunscreen loses its potency after a few hours.] And I would never use a product containing hydroquinone- this Serum does not contain this ingredient- as after using a hydroquinone product on my sun damage, my skin darkened where I had applied the hydroquinone product to a coffee brown. Avoid hydroquinone- it made my sun damage MUCH worse! Hydroquinone damage is what caused my doctor to suggest Retin-A; I think if I had used this Caudalie product initially instead, I would have enjoyed its gentle fading effects without the damaging darkening that hydroquinone is known to cause. I also saw no results from products containing kojic and azulaic acids. I spent a few hundred dollars over the years searching for a product that works as well as this one does. This Radiance Serum definitely makes good on its claims.
I was so happy I gave this product a try- I was a skeptic, and it worked very well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works fast. No bad effects, September 30, 2006
This review is from: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (Misc.)
I always wondered if the other products were working. I know this one is because it works so fast. I notice when I do not use it too. It is expensive, but it works. It does not burn my skin either. Just put it where there is a discoleration and rub it in. It works wonders. It is worth the price because the other stuff from clinique and philosophy did nothing. I have sensitive skin and was affraid to try the hydroquinone because so many bad reactions happen from it. Many other products have it even the good brands. This stuff is great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful, but expensive, June 16, 2006

This review is from: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (Misc.)
I have acne for a long time, but I also got a really dark melasma on my face that showed up unexpectedly after sunbathing this year. I started to use this product 3 weeks ago, and I must admit my melasma almost is gone. But, of course, I avoided any sun exposure. I first clean up my skin with a Vitamin C balancing facial toner (this is from another company), then I apply Caudalie and let it dry. After 20 min. I apply my tea-tree oil cream and then Aknecolor, which is a great European cover cream that actually treats acne. I used all those productes before when I didn`t know about Caudalie yet, so I can compare how it was before and after and I really can see my skin now is much clearer and even-toned, and I have the feeling that it treats acne a little bit, as well. The only thing I don`t like is the price (I used 1 bottle in 3 weeks) but from the other side, when I remember how desperate I was because of that melasma, I am willing to rebuy Caudalie one more time, as prevention, but I`m afraid I can`t afford buying it on a regular basis so I plan to try later another product later with acid kojic and acid azelaic...that would be cheaper. Maybe I`ll write another review then :)

Then a few years later, I bought it again because I wanted this product to work so bad since it had glowing reviews on many websites but this time, even though I only used half the bottle this time, I saw no results. No dewy skin, no brightening or anything so I returned it back. Perhaps, this works best on White skin as it is thinner than Black skin.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW., December 27, 2008
This review is from: Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum (Misc.)
Not only does this serum help fade dark spots caused by hyperpigmentation, but it also improves the texture of your skin, amazing. Im medium skinned and this stuff makes my face brighter. Now if i only used it twice a day everyday like it says, i could see even better results!!! Ive been using it for about a month, so im really excited to see how much better my skin will be in three months! Yea its expensive, but just look at it this way...it could be more expensive lol.

4.0 out of 5 stars Something that actually works, October 10, 2008
This is a great product for reducing brown spots. It took about three weeks of application am and pm before I saw dramatic results (75% reduction). The smell is fresh and the texture light. Does not feel oily or sticky. It is expensive but works well and lasts quite a while. With all the false advertisement out there, it is refreshing to find a product that does what it says.
