About the Author

Jack Tate (born 1st June, 1983) is an Australian thriller author who lives on
the outskirts of Sydney with his dog, Barney.

Jack uses writing as his own personal therapy. It's a place where he can get
away from reality and a place where he can live vicariously through the
characters that he creates.

A lot of Jack's writing is pretty full on, it pushes the limits on what society
considers normal. He tries to make people feel something that they
normally wouldn't get to feel.

Influenced by Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, Lee Child and Koushun Takami.

Jack Tate wants you to ask the question: "What would I do if that happened to me?"

I first heard about this book from a friend who sent me a link to Jack Tate's website, i read the first chapter preview and immediately wanted to get my hands on the rest of the book.
When I eventually got my copy I could not put it down I basically read it cover to cover. There was enough in every chapter to keep me going, when i said to myself i'll finish this chapter then off to bed, the next page would make me want to read on.
It was bold, gruesome and had its twists and turns and a great finish.
For a first time author I take my hat off for a well written book.
I look forward to reading many more books from Jack Tate.

Great first book from an up & coming young author.

You can definitely see the influences of Chuck Palahniuk and Koushun Takami in the way Jack Tate sets up a scene, & seems to almost revel in pushing the gory details to new levels. If you've read "Guts" by Palahniuk, then you'll know what you're getting yourself into here.

The lead characters descent from happy go lucky to twisted anti hero is a great plot line to follow, & the twist at the end was hidden away perfectly until the curtains were pulled back for the big reveal.

The supporting cast all played their part, all well written & believable and all were a great vehicle to keep the pace of the book moving from one set piece to the next.

Highly recommended, just don't read it on a full stomach!

This book had me on the edge of my seat from the moment I started reading until the moment I finished.
Eric Rose is a very likable character and from the start, you are walking the journey with him.
This book certainly as it all... blue collar crime, love, hate, humour, friendship, loss, revenge. Quite gory in parts but a very good read.
Looking forward to the next book from this Author

A great revenge thriller. Causality is a very well written and fast paced story with great characters and a solid plot. The premise was simple: how far would you go to avenge the death of the people you loved? Awesome twist which caught me by surprise. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good suspenseful thriller and doesn't mind a little bit of violence.
