3.0 out of 5 stars This was not as good as her usual books
This book was good, but it wasn't as thrilling as the others that she writes. I was disappointed with this one and the ending on this one.

The context of the book was good, but the ending wasn't all that great.

I recommend all of her other books before this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Suprising Read, June 21, 2002
Okay, picked the book up at [local store] for dirt cheap thinking maybe I might read this..possibly sounds interesting. Holy cow, it was beyond interesting! The characters that Erica Spindler create in her story are very complex and each are nothing alike. You quickly flip the pages wanting to find out more about the very screwed up lives of these characters while being able to truly picture what they are doing. Spindler gives thorough details to help the reader picture these characters and better relate to them. The twist and turns, some suprising and others predictable, also help the reader in becoming their own detective in figuring out just what is happening to these people and who might not live to see the end of the book. I would highly recommend and say....be ready to have some sleepless nights since you just can't put the book down!

5.0 out of 5 stars WoW, November 6, 2003
This is the first book by Erica Spindler that I have read. It was a very exciting book. While reading it I could acually feel the emotions of the characters. My heart would even begin to race at to parts of suspense. I can honestly say no book has made me react the way this one has. It is an excellent book and I encourage all to read it. Because I couldn't put it down. I read the book in a total of 3 days because it was so well written. Then I had to go and buy another by her. She is an excellent auther. She keeps you guessing and throws some controversial things in with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Late Night!, November 8, 2002

This was the second Erica Spindler novel I have read, but I can tell you, I am now a huge fan! "Cause for Alarm" kept me up until the wee hours of the morning, swearing "just one more chapter." Ms. Spindler brings you into the very core of her characters, and leaves you wrapped up in their lives. Just when you think you have her books figured out, she throws in an incredible plot twist that has you reading waaaayyy into dawn. Her intracate stories and the obsessions of her characters are unlike any other author I have read. When you finish the book, you'll be mad it's not longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spindler gets better and better with each book., July 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cause For Alarm (Paperback)
Cause for Alarm kept me up nights--the first night when I read it straight through because I couldn't put it down, and several nights after that because the terror she evoked just wouldn't go away. The portrait Spindler drew of a "perfect" family slowly crumbling was fascinating.

5.0 out of 5 stars You can't put it down!, May 23, 1999

This was the first book I've read by Erica Spindler and I was pleasantly surprised at how captivated I was with it. I just couldn't put the book down! I found myself up late at night because I wanted to find out what would happen next. Ms. Spindler has a way of writing which makes you feel as though it is all happening right in front of you. I'd like to see Ms. Spindler write more of these types of romantic suspense thrillers. She has just joined my "favorite authors" list!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!, March 3, 1999

This review is from: Cause For Alarm (Paperback)
Once Again Erica captivated my attention with her story line. She has such a way of weaving the characters lives together. I have read everything Erica has ever written. I feel she writes better and better with every book. I can hardly wait for what's next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A winner!, January 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cause For Alarm (Paperback)
Readers have no CAUSE FOR ALARM when Erica Spindler writes a romantic suspense because the story line is guaranteed to be filled with non-stop action that keeps the audience attention throughout the novel. The complex characters and their relationships are well designed, especially the thin line between insanely obsessive and what passes for normalcy in a CIA operative. Fans of romantic suspense with a major emphasis on the Suspense need to peruse Ms. Spindler's terrific twisted tales like FORBIDDEN FRUIT and SHOCKING PINK, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Erica's Books are the best, February 12, 2001
This review is from: Cause For Alarm (Paperback)
I haven't read any books like Erica's in my entire life. Unlike V.C. Andrews, which each book has the same type of storyline, Erica's are all fresh new plots. She has a good mix of mystery, sex/romance, murder. Once you pick her book up, it will be hard to put it down. Erica is also a very personable author. She is very nice. I have corresponded with her via e-mail and she was very helpful in helping me to get autographed books by her. One other thing that is great about her books, is they are thick. Unlike some paperback books, hers are not thin and short. They really have some "meat" to them. Definately worth the money. I think I have all of her books now that are in print still. I would definately recommend her books to everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Predictable but still very entertaining., December 18, 1999

This review is from: Cause For Alarm (Paperback)
This was the first Erica Spindler book that I have read. I do have to agree with a previous reviewer in that it was a "cookie cutter" formula and parts of the story were very predictable. I still found myself glued to the pages and unable to put the book down.
