This review is from: The Causes of the Economic Crisis: And Other Essays Before and After the Great Depression (Hardcover)
The Causes of the Economic Crisis is collection of essays written by Ludwig Von Mises before and after the Great Depression. In this book, Mises explores various topics ranging from the causes of economic crisis (which is highly relevant today) to the advantages and disadvantages of the gold standard. One of the most important essays in this book is "The Causes of the Economic Crisis" in which Mises explains fractional reserve banking, how it affects interest rates and the purchasing power of our currency. This book is recommended for everyone interested in an alternative perspective on economic crises.

Economists and Politicians of this century should read this book. The similarities beetween Germany in 1920 and the US today are unfortunally striking. Mises's logic is clear cut and one may wonder why he has not got more attention. Why go to Business School and University when you can read this book.
