Product Description

The most extensive line of basic pet information and training guides on the market, Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals are written by experts, and profusely illustrated with full-color photos and instructive, high-quality line art. Each manual is individually written. Not one of Barron's Pet Owner's Manuals is a clone from a single common catch-all book, with one or two chapters added on to make it appear new. Instead, each Barron's manual has been planned, designed, and written from scratch—always by an experienced breeder, trainer, veterinarian, or qualified expert.

Although descended from hunting dogs, this animal is an ideal house pet—playful, small, fun-loving, easy to train, and very tolerant of children. The author provides detailed advice on what to look for when purchasing a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, along with a wealth of information on health care, training, feeding, grooming, and much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book, October 30, 1999
Coile's book gives great insight to the Cavalier, what you can expect, behaviors, day-to-day care, and long term treatments. After reading Coile's book and following some suggestions, our new Cavalier has become a wonderful family memeber in less than a week. To anyone who is thinking about adopting a cavalier to somebody who just did, this book is a must read!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars informative and well-written, July 21, 1999
By A Customer
I've read dozens of books written about dogs in the past few months and this is one of the best. Not only is it well-written, but the information is all pertinent to this breed. Many books feature a few chapters on the breed and the rest is just basic info on crate training, puppy behavior, etc. But Ms.Coile relates all these aspects to the particular needs of Cavs. Very helpful!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Helpful Introduction to the Breed, May 6, 2002
By Aimee (Chesterfield, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This book answered all my initial questions about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with honesty and candor about the ups and downs of Cavalier ownership. I especially liked the sections about genetic predispositions and temperament. The only thing not covered in depth was how expensive these dogs are! However, I still recommend it highly as a first step in information-gathering about the breed.
