Absolutely the best book on the market about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels! We've had Cavaliers for 40 years, and we have read every book about the breed published during that time. The author writes frankly about the pros and cons of the breed, particularly its genetic health disorders and the breeding protocols which breeders ought to be following to produce healthier future generations of Cavaliers. This is the second edition of this book by Ms. Coile, and as good as her first edition was, this one tops it! [...]

I bought this book based on the reviews and so glad we made the purchase. We recently purchased a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and this book has provided the insight we needed. This will be our first pet as a couple and our first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel so we found the history information interesting and the checklist for preparing to bring your puppy home very helpful. Our puppy will be here in a couple of weeks and this book is our preparation manual!

This book contained very useful information on cavs. I also enjoyed the many pictures because I was only familiar with my own cav and had not seen others. I like that this book also had information on which settings to use on a trimmer to cut your own dog's hair.

When we first got our Cavalier I wanted a book that would give me the basics on the breed and thats exactly what this book provides. I even passed it onto a neighbor who recently got a Cavalier puppy.

This is a nice book for new dog owners that contains lots of information about dogs in general for the first time owner. If you have owned dogs previously though, you will not find too much in there that you don't already know. A lot of common sense info here. On the plus side, there is a good overview of the Cavalier breed.

This book has served to be an informative book about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniels which we knew very little about. I pick it up and use it as a reference all the time. It has a lot of nice photographs and some good information.

I enjoyed reading this book. I especially liked the things written in the blue boxes. Such as Check lists, 5 minute check-up, first aid kit, travel kit, and Health information to mention a few.
