Biography

It takes a special kind of band to be able to write instantaneously catchy, hook-driven pop-rock songs whose appeal cuts across generations, continents and gender. In the recent past,
US-based bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco made it look easy, and now, a new generation of young bands has emerged to take up the cause. Leading the way is the undeniably impressive You Me At ... Read more in Amazon's You Me at Six Store

Editorial Reviews

You Me At Six rose to fame in 2008 with the release of their debut album Take Off Your Colours. They subsequently released Hold Me Down (2010) and Sinners Never Sleep (2011), which charted at #5 and #3 respectively in the UK Albums Chart. Since then, they've sold out Wembley Arena, and gone on to have all 3 albums now certified Gold Sales in the UK.

For their fourth full length LP, they teamed with American producer Neal Avron (All Time Low, Fall Out Boy), and have produced their most stunning and powerful work to date!

Got this CD for my daughter and she loves it.

I have been a fan of YMAS for a very long time, and I think this has to be one of my favorite albums so far.
Tiana Low
Still some pretty rock hard songs that were great.

I bought this album because I loved the song Room To Breathe. Unfortunately none of the other songs are anything like that one. I doubt Octane would play any of the others. They aren't bad songs but they aren't really in the same style or genre as Room To Breathe IMO. I really hate it when a band releases a single to sell their album when the rest of the songs are nothing alike. If you are on this page because of Room to Breathe just make sure you listen to the samples of the other songs first.

This is a great album! I'm enjoying it so much.
I've been anxiously impatient to receive it. I did not know about Auto rip which made it even better!
You Me At Six is one of the best bands there is.

Great album. It really hits home. My favorite song is "room to breathe". Any band that can give a good emotional range of songs in their album has my vote.

Pretty cool album, If you just heard room to breathe and your expecting the rest of the album to sound like that your not gonna really like it. They have a Jimmy eat world vibe which is a cool thing. Theyre songs are growers, Ive had to listen to the songs multiple times before I really started liking it. Its pretty solid, only complaint is that I wish there was a little more upbeatness its a little too slow in some spots.

At first, I gave the album a listen or two, then let it slowly drift away into the "rarely played" list of music on my computer. Not that there was anything wrong with the album, it was just different from "Sinners Never Sleep". Not different in a bad way, mind you, just different.

Then one day I decided to give the album a second listen, and this time take it as something new, and not a continuation of SNS. I fell in love with it. This is, by far, my favorite album of the last year. Each song is well written, and no two songs sound the same. The lyrics are meaningful and powerful. Some songs are heavier, some lighter, but all together they blend perfectly to make an excellent album.

As I said, this is my album of the year by far. I listen to the whole album consistently, without skipping a single track.

It took a few listens to completely grow on me, but You Me At Six have grown into fine young musicians. I was a little fonder of Hold Me Down and their harder edged sound on Sinners Never Sleep, but that was an album forged from conflict, they almost broke up! There is not a "bad" song on this album, is a little more poppy? Yes, in fact "Carpe Diem" is now my summer anthem, but there is also a lot of great lyrical content and structure. I can always count on YMAS to produce a record I will never get sick of listening to, and I think they've got a long career ahead of them.

The album overall was pretty decent. I was a little disappointed over the fact it was more mellow and pop-ish. But to each their own. Still some pretty rock hard songs that were great. Fresh start fever and win some, lose some.
