I took a chance on this external hard drive and I got it for my boyfriend, whose HP Laptop had crashed on him last month and he almost had a heart attack. This was very easy to use and easy to copy files from the computer to the hard drive. It's also very easy to open files from the hard drive while it's plugged into the computer. It's much easier to use than my Western Digital Passport hard drive. Only thing is that the packaging from the manufacturer didn't look all that professional, so that made me concerned. But the product itself is a sure thing.

I purchased this hard drive in January to store my photos. Unfortunately I put the photos on there to free up room on my computer. Then I noticed it started getting noisier. I should have got suspicious then but I let it go. It quit on me before I moved the pictures back to my computer. Now it has stopped working completely. It is going to cost me $150.00 at Best Buy to get the pictures off. Moral of the story. Find a more reliable hard drive for important data.
