3.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful!! February 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"Caveat Emptor" is a bit of a difficult book for me to review. I must say that I very much enjoyed the plot in this fictional novel because I think the author has good knowledge of this storyline with his Navy background. I have little expertise in this area myself but I do love a thriller full of espionage and intrigue. I believe this novel delivers just that even if it is a bit farfetched at times. I also like the main characters...Jack, who is thrown into a very challenging situation with his long time friend, Gareth, who is considered to be a traitor to his cause. They definitely meet their fair share of uncertainty and danger.

I think this is a good first novel for Author Steve Anderson and I would have given it higher than a three star rating but it is in need of much more editing. There are many spelling errors as well as a lack of proper punctuation throughout the entire novel which take from the reading experience. With a little more polish, this could be a great book! Hopefully the author will revisit it one day and make it shine!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read January 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was well researched and entered an intriguing alternate reality foreign to most of us. It challenged conventional thinking about world powers and whilst providing an exciting adventure story had a more sobering underlying twist. It would make a great movie. I think an overarching story of grief & loss could have been given more substance by the innocent death of Jack's family albeit a family he had already lost. However absolutely deserves 5 stars.

This story was great. I enjoy fast paced multi faceted story and this does not disappoint. The plot leave room for more without being incomplete in its own right. I would recommend this to everyone and I look forward to the next story from this author.
