A MUST READ!,
By
This review is from: The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion: A Survival Guide for Expectant Fathers (Paperback)
My wife and I have been awaiting our first child for 7 months,
so I have been to numerous classes and read several books on the subject. I must say "The Caveman" is the most reassuring and beneficial to me, as an expectant father. I have been so geared up for helping my wife and her needs that I was neglecting my own. I now feel I can come to grips with my role and in turn be a better husband and father. It shedded light on the serious topic in a humorous and helpful way. The "Caveman" is a must read!

Experienced Caveman Father,

I picked up this book for a friend of mine who is expecting his first child. While I am a veteran of the pregnancy and child birth process, I decided to hold onto the book for a bit and check it out. Dave and JR have hit a home run with this realistic and quite humerous guide to being a pregnancy companion. I especially enjoyed the list of "What Not To Do in the Delivery Room" as I definitely violated some of the caveman rules and paid dearly for it. Fellow cavemen, this is a must read. Enjoy!

Gronk Rocks!,

Finally - a "fun" book to read about the experience as an expectant father! I've read other books but this one has it all - great advice, easy-to-understand information about what my wife is experiencing, recipes on easy-to-cook meals for the new family, and most importantly a humorous and fun angle to everything!

Excellent,
This review is from: The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion: A Survival Guide for Expectant Fathers (Paperback)
Absolutey hilarious, but more importantly - informative. My mother-in-law bought me a copy in light of our impending arrival, and it helped me to understand, and not feel hurt over, some of the emotions my wife is experiencing. It helped my stress level and is helping my relationship with my wife as we go through this wonderful experience. Highly recommended for clueless dads-to-be like myself.

A accurate and hysterical account of the experience,

This is the mens version of the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy series. Hysterical but painfully accurate which can bring any hormonally driven pregnant man to tears just to know that he is not alone in his weight gain and morning sickness.

My husband has been reading it, and I've been sneaking peeks at it, and it's lots of fun. I think it's helping him understand a little more what I am going through right now, but then again, it takes some Cavemen a while to get in touch with their noncaveman side. =) He's getting there, and I think the book is definately helping him do that. I especially like the Dr. Brian tidbits. I'm learning a few things I didn't even know. =) =)

Perfect for Expectant Fathers...,

Definitely helped me better understand what my wife was going through, but of equal importance, it also validated a lot of the feelings I had been having myself. Definitely made me feel better about being a caveman father-to-be. The humor was priceless as well!

Great Book,
This review is from: The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion: A Survival Guide for Expectant Fathers (Paperback)
I loved this book and think others will too. I appreciated the useful information as well as the thoughtful lay out. Info. was very accessible. As for the humor, it sealed the deal. The "Caveman" angle made it feel OK to have lots of questions. This book would be a great addition for first-time fathers and seasoned veterans alike. Thanks Dave. Jeremiah

This book is hilarious. It will help any father-to-be cope with his wife's pregnancy symptoms. It's a fun way for expectant dads to "experience" what's on the way. The humor will help any man stay sane during some, uh, hormonal moments.

"Caveman" is progress!,

When it comes to quality literature for expectant dads, the pickings are slim, at best. Most books either make men out to be complete morons, or only focus on the needs and feelings of the expectant mom. This book stands out among all the rest. The authors have done a great job of breaking down - let's be honest - a scary time in a man's life into common ideas and language, even using a great "caveman" metaphor for the journey the dad-to-be will be undertaking. They offer fantastic tips for bringing the new parents closer together, as well as for lessening the anxiety a man feels when he learns he's going to be a father for the first time by providing relevant and practical information.
I serve as the director of an agency that works specifically with expecting and new fathers, and The Caveman's Pregnancy Companion is one of only two books I ever recommend to dads-to-be (along with Armin Brott's The Expectant Father). After reading the book last year, I know I certainly wish I would have owned this book when I first found out I was going to be a dad. |
