Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ce Soir-La (Audio CD)
I had originally purchased Lo' Jo's music because it was recommended on Sharna Fabiano's website [...]. My first purchase was L'une des Siens (Au Cabaret Sauvage). There is something about this music that keeps drawing you back to it. One thing you should know is that there are some selections which are on L'une des Siens which are also on Ce Soir La -- they include "A l'arene des audacieux", "Tangito," and "Bougnoule." In a like manner, there are are selections which are also included in Boheme de cristal which are also on Ce Soir La, and these include "Brule la Meche," and "Le piano." You will also note some selections in the CD "Mojo Radio" which are also on "Ce Soir La", including "Sin Acabar" and "Chaque Humain." I do not want to see you disappointed, just be aware and be smart consumer.
Lo' Jo has an eclectic mixture of French chason and Algerian-French influences. You could almost expect to hear this in "les banlieues" (immigrant suburbs in France). HOWEVER, my interest in Lo' Jo is as "néo-tango." It is kind of neat to have a tanda of a some of these to include in your milonga. In that regard, I would include "Invitation," "Brule la Meche," "Tangito," and "Bougnoule." It is strange music, and it grows on you.

Beautiful!,

Just one comment: every time I play it on our wwuh.org radio station, people call and ask what it is and where they can get it. Now that you know the answers, buy without reservations -and let your friends bug you with those questions.

The most serene concert album you'll ever hear,
By Amaranth "music fan" (Northern California) - See all my reviews

With a live concert album, one expects to hear the raucous audience,crowd-surfing,beer bottle breaking chaos. Not this one.
I've always been a fan of Lo'Jo,so when I saw this one I HAD TO HAVE IT. It's more subdued than Lo'Jo's studio albums. The music comes organically;there's audience interaction, but it doesn't interfere. It offers live versions of songs on studio albums,as well as a couple of other tracks. If you want to hear (and SEE) a different side of Lo'Jo,get this!
