Very Disappointing! June 9, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
After reading previous reviews, I was very disappointed in this puzzle. The quality of manufacture of this puzzle leaves much to be desired. The box was literally filled with "puzzle dust" which adhered to the puzzle pieces and generally made a real mess on the table and surrounding area. The pieces were of very poor quality in several aspects... [1] VERY thin, only 1.25 mm, making the pieces hard to handle. (Compare to other puzzle manufacturers - Milton Bradley (Big Ben) - 2 mm; Mega Brands - 2 mm; Buffalo - 2.5 mm)[2] Poor machining made the joining - some pieces fit very tightly, others very loosely - making it difficult to know if the pieces really do fit together. [3] Poor adhesive joining paper image to cardboard backing. Several pieces were either loosely attached, and a large block (12 pieces) were completely separated, and had to be glued together before using. [4] Very small complete image. Main picture on box lid had part of the photo blocked with text disclaimers, or pieced together onto the sides of box where parts of the picture were eliminated to account for the corners of the box. The only complete images were only 2" x 3" which made it very difficult to see details for use as a map or assembling guide. [5] Construction of the box is poorly designed and light weight. Corners of bottom of box attached together with a very short pieced of tape which needed to be wet to adhere. On two of the corners, the tape was only stuck to one side of the corner, making the box fall apart when opened. And finally - the greatest disappointment - the puzzle was missing 11 pieces! The only thing that I can say good about the puzzle and the manufacturer was the price was cheap - and the saying goes, you get what you pay for...

very entertaining February 25, 2008
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This puzzle was very entertaining. The picture is a photograph of a miniature scene, in which everything is made from something else. Pretzels for seatbacks, pencils for posts, etc. I thought that would make it easier to do, but it makes it more challenging. A puzzle piece might have a bit of a crayon or a ruler on it, and you don't know if its a part of the counter, or wall, or what! Fun.

Nothing is as it seems! November 19, 2008
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
This puzzle was created by artist Joan Steiner and is like no other puzzle I have ever seen! This puzzle is fascinating because nothing is as it appears. At first, it looks like a normal picture, But take a closer look, and that lamp turns out to be a salt shaker, the stove is a hand grenade, the lamp is a microphone! It seems that most things in this picture are "undercover objects". In fact, the longer it takes to do the puzzle, the more you see! This is a really fun puzzle to do as a family because it really gets you excited to discover and tell about the next cool thing.

Hard to see completed image
I found this puzzle to be challenging enough to be fun for me, but not too challenging as to be frustrating! I like the idea that the store is made up of many miniature items. Read more

Great puzzle, cheap box
The puzzle is great. I love the "can you find?" concept. The box is about as durable as a cereal box, and opens the same way. Read more

Rather easy and fun
I've been on a puzzle kick for the last couple of years. I don't do it for a huge challenge, just a nice way to pass the time, so I don't like really difficult puzzles. Read more
