4.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasing Twist
First, I have both 'Tour Generacion RBD En Vivo' and 'Live in Hollywood'. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of these items.

'Live in Hollywood' takes place later in their career as the songs on this DVD derive mostly from their 2nd album (Nuestro Amor) while 'Tour Generacion' derives from their 1st album (Rebelde).

1.0 out of 5 stars So Disappointed--Try the Other One!
My husband and I are RBD fans, and I bought this DVD noting that it was recently released and assuming it would be current. I'm not sure when the concert in L.A. actually occurred, but it's quite obvious that it took place early in RBD's career. The venue was small, the audio was terrible, there was very little staging, and the performances were so disappointing. I...

4.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasing Twist, August 3, 2006

First, I have both 'Tour Generacion RBD En Vivo' and 'Live in Hollywood'. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of these items.

'Live in Hollywood' takes place later in their career as the songs on this DVD derive mostly from their 2nd album (Nuestro Amor) while 'Tour Generacion' derives from their 1st album (Rebelde).

People have different tastes. If you love the pop/studio quality/sound/style of the music that you hear on the CD, AND you don't see yourself veering away from that at all, then do NOT get this DVD. This concert takes the songs from the 2nd album and gives out a new interpretation on them. The new instrumental parts are very nice. All instruments are acoustic (being able to produce their own sound with significant volume) using the violin, acoustic guitar, cello, etc except for the electric bass. Personally, I LOVE natural/acoustic sounding stuff and love acoustic renditions of originally electric/technologically based songs. So, if you like stuff like this also, then definitely buy this.

Furthermore, if you would rather stick to the studio version style of the songs, then your bet would be the 'Tour Generacion' DVD.

One last thing to note to differentiate between the 2 DVD's. 'Live in Hollywood' being an acoustic/natural feel is naturally more restrained in its feel and attitude which is reflected in the show. It's more calm, smooth. I mean, which can you head bang to, Slipknot or John Mayer?? There are not as much of a dance performance aspect in this show as in 'Tour Generacion'.

I recommend you skip this one and try RBD's "Tour Generacion, RBD en Vivo" instead. It restored our faith in their talent after viewing the disaster entitled "RBD Live in Hollywood".

5.0 out of 5 stars IT IS LIVE!!! HATERS STINK LIKE ARM PITS!!!!!, July 22, 2007
This review is from: Live in Hollywood (DVD)
This performance of RBD is actually real. They did not do playback. It is special that's why they had small group of ppl.And besides, less ppl is better than with full of ppl that's so much screaming that just annoys. Especially if they are playing acoustic songs,it's suppose to be more quiet to here the instruments and the voices.I like that they try thier best to try not to be too loud or not to be out of tune.RBD haters are totally wrong. They just don't like thier music and that's that.Cause as a musician,RBD do sing nothing like like the emos.If you're one of them, guess what?People chooses RBD's music better than your crap cause the majority of ppl, likes or even LOVES RBD.HA!

If you like RBD and you can appreciate live music, you will love this. If you only want to see performers lip sync to their studio recordings then you might not like this. It is a very good concert and definitely worth getting if you are an RBD fan.

Well Actually this Live album was supposed to be Acoustic and well it was supposed to be a "special" live Concert. This Concert took in place January 2006, it wasn't that long ago. I truly like this dvd. I have seen performances off it but I don't have it unfortunately but I am trying to get this dvd. In my opinion it's another great live dvd and hope to have it in my hand soon =] *Once Again RBD has done a great job!
