Fantastic music. Very relaxing, very etherial, it's a cross between Native American music and jazz. I'm just not sure how to describe it. Go Jeff!

Jeff's musical talent at the Native American Courting Flute is legendary! I absolutely loved this cd and recommend this to anyone who can appreciate the beauty of that ole wooden flute! Being a Native American myself, this music brought me back to the serenity of nature and brought images of an eagle flying over the Blue Ridge Mountains. I also appreciated the musicians who created the perfect blend to Jeff's peaceful sounds of the flute. This artist should be recognized with a Grammy! I can only hope to hear him play live soon!

MUSIC TO JOURNEY BY,

I became aware of Jeff Ball's music by selling it where I work. It has been many years since I have been moved this much by any music. A wonderful blend of Native Flute and Light Jazz. A must for anyone!

I just bought this disk, and I have to say that I love it. The mix of jazz and the Native American Cedar flute is like nothing that I have ever heard before. I find this album to be very inspiring and emotional. I am definatly going to get the rest of Jeff Balls albums, and look forward to hearing his future recordings. This guy is definatly going to be big.

Amazing Album - Should go Platinum,

This is the best instrumental album I own. I found this artist by accident and now own all of his CD's. The music just moves me. I don't know why this guy isn't huge. Some major label better take a look at this guy. Overall it's the best purchase I've made yet from Amazon.

More Flute, Less Accompaniment,
By Diana Duffy "Diana" (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews

The premise is nice, but before the end of the first track, I was disappointed. The flute was drowned out by what should have been the background music. Indian flutes have a very beautiful and unique tone and sound, but it was difficult to hear on this cd. At times it did take center stage, but for the most part, I felt the "star" of this genre played second fiddle to overimaginative keyboard music.
If you want to hear the flute in all its beauty, I suggest some of Mary Youngblood's music, particularly Beneath the Raven Moon and The Offering. |
