Book Description

The city of Celadon is ancient. Some say the city has always stood and will remain until the end of days. Venture into a new world in three fantastical tales. The Clockwork Men tells the story of Haem, Lord Northwarden and the alchemist Mikael Thorne, while Behind the Red Door is the story of a common thief and the score of a lifetime. Beneath the Stone is a tale of murder within Celadon’s royal family and dark secrets uncovered from the past.

5.0 out of 5 stars The magic is that it transported me March 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm amazed that the author is offering this collection of tales so cheap. I've come to expect a quick cup of tea for more than a buck, so to be able to sit down and immerse myself in a new world with new characters for a few hours is worth more than that.

the author has created just that. The world may be vaguely familiar, being earth like with humanly characters populating it, but that's what I really enjoyed, that feeling that it was comfortable and that the characters could be from a distant past, and that they could have/and did have the same concerns and worries as me. Well...sort of.

It had all the elements I love in good fiction: great characters, good writing, and stories that captured my attention; it also had so much more: a little bit of sorcery, fanciful thievery, golum type androids....*delightful shiver*

Reading this novel was like lying in bed at night as a child letting someone tell me a great story that could go anywhere or do anything. There was magic in that, and there's magic in this collection.

I'm looking forward to the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Enjoyable, highly recommended! August 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
It feels great to be able to read something that quickly pulls you into another world where you feel as if you are there. The author makes you genuinely feel for the characters as you read through 3 different tales of excitement and intrigue. You end up feeling a sense of atmosphere in the world he creates. I cannot wait to read more Celadonian Tales!
