Kinito Mendez in top form!, December 26, 2004

This album by Kinito has the type of merengue that will forever make him popular among merengue fans. This merengue has it all; upbeat rhythms and very danceable beats, crazy lyrics, the kind of merengue that will liven up any party. The whole album is a delight. If you are a Kinito Menedez fan, you will enjoy this production. If you enjoyed songs like "Cachamaba", "Anja Juan" and "Grua" this merengue is comparable to those songs that were popular in the 90's.

"Party like a Honky" !, December 30, 2004

On a recent visit to South Beach our radio was locked into Univision's Salsa FM Miami, and the great sounds of Merengue...everywhere we went including Mangos Tropical Bar on Ocean Drive we heard a song that the two sixteen year olds could only identify as "Party Like a Honky"...Thanks to the staff at Mangos we realized that it was "Hony t'u si Jony" by Kinito Mendez which was hot and heavy on the playlists.
Having purchased copies (two) of "Celebra Conmigo", it is a joy to listen to, the use of brass, the rhythms and the celebratory sounds of merengue are really a pleasure - I would guess that the girls are the only two 16 year olds driving around in Detroit singing along with Kinito Mendez, but it really is a great album and I would encourage everyone to "Party like a Honky"
