4.0 out of 5 stars A fun milenium mix!
I love how Eddie brought togehter a multituide of talented singers together for this party cd. I do not think all of the songs are good, but the 2nd song, w/ Huey Dunbar, is worht it all. I love it so much! and also that Son by Four are there, it makes it worth 4 stars. A lot of the otehr songs are weak, and I don't know how Elvis did such a job of singing salsa, I...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good mix of songs.....
I hadn't really heard Eddie Santiago's music prior to purchasing this album. The real reason I bought it was for one single off this album specifically. That song is "Que Locura Enamorarme" with Huey Dunbar and Eddie. If you have read my previous reviews of DLG and Huey's first solo album you will find that I have been following him for sometime. Anyway, this...

Anyway, this review is not about him! haha.... I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the other cuts are quite good on this CD. The stand-out tracks are "Tu Me Haces Falta" with Elvis Crespo (who would've thought Mr. Suavemente himself--AKA the merengue man-- could also take on salsa!), "Lluvia" with Charlie Zaa (the Colombian king of romantic music), and "Todo Empezo" with Son By Four. Some of the lesser tunes are "Antidoto y Veneno" (I know this will probably upset some of you Victor Manuelle fans but I am just not feeling his voice...too nasal for my tastes....), and "Celebracion" (it just seemed a little silly...I know it is the intro track but it seemed a pointless to keep reiterating that it was the new millenium and all of that! LoL). All in all, this is a very danceable album and I have definitely heard some of these tunes at the clubs. Give it a listen!

After growing up listening to the original versions, some of these, well, they just are not good remakes or whatever they are.

I love it so much! and also that Son by Four are there, it makes it worth 4 stars. A lot of the otehr songs are weak, and I don't know how Elvis did such a job of singing salsa, I think he is more geared for merengue, but oh well... for those few songs it is worth it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally have it!, June 26, 2000
This review is from: Celebracion: Epic Duets (Audio CD)
After seraching for this cd, I have it. It displays all of the best latinos who thrill us with salsa. With Huey (DLG), Son by Four, Victor Manuelle, and others, this cd has a great collection and mix of our favorites. I like it so far, some of my favs include Son by FOur and Huey's song, b/c I have heard them before some place, but I guess it is nice to have a little sample of others. I don't know why Eddie Santiago decided to make this cd, or why he is not featured as much as i expected him to be on the cd. Listen to the sample and give it a try. A fun piece to add to your salsa collection!
