Book Description

December 1993
Have you ever felt that you were somehow missing out on celebrating the real meaning of Christmas and other special days? Have the cheap and not so cheap "substitutes" that are superimposed in neon lights over the holidays left you feeling frustrated and dissatisfied? Then this book can help you.

Through them we can communicate what we believe. Holidays invite us to participate with God's people through the centuries in historic events that have affected all of time, including the present, and prepare us for the future! They "replay" decisive religious events, reminding us of God's marvelous works.

What a wonderful reason to celebrate and give praise to God! With thoughtful planning, holidays can provide time for families to love each other, have fun together, build family memories, and truly celebrate the traditional Christian holidays.

In the style of her successful Celebrate the Feasts of the Old Testament, Martha Zimmerman presents the major Christian holidays of the year and gives the history behind each event as well as a way to celebrate it in a family setting. This is a wonderful handbook that will provide meaningful traditions for your family that will last a lifetime.

"Martha Zimmerman has done it again! It is so easy to allow significant holidays to be shaped by our culture rather than our values. This book provides many pract

5.0 out of 5 stars Christian Year, November 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Celebrating the Christian Year: Building Family Traditions Around All the Major Christian Holiday (Paperback)
This book was very relevant and interesting. It made me verify what I read with the word of God. I learned a lot about the different holy days and I actually used some of the ideas when I was raising my children. I created my own traditions using this book as a guide.
