Honest, authentic, indispensable, October 14, 2001

This review is from: Celebrating Orgasm [VHS] (VHS Tape)
OK, I admit I'm totally biased about this video - because it was one of the things that helped me to learn how to orgasm for the first time.
This documentary shows author and masturbation guru Betty Dodson's private coaching sessions with five very different women. They range from their twenties to their sixties, with real bodies of all shapes and sizes; some are just learning how to orgasm, while others are looking to fine-tune their technique. Dodson goes from helping one woman understand her own anatomy to giving another tips on how to go for multiple orgasms, all the while being funny, warm, supportive, and disarmingly maternal. The laughter and beaming smiles on the women's faces as they relish their new knowledge of their bodies is touching and thrilling.
The video is *very* explicit, but it's educational and informative rather than "pornographic" in any conventional sense (although the sexual energy shown is so clearly authentic that it's also more than a bit contagious).
If you are a "pre-orgasmic" woman (or the partner of one), then this video is for you (try teaming it with a copy of Rebecca Chalker's "The Clitoral Truth" and a Hitachi Magic Wand!). But I think it would also fascinate anyone, male or female, who's interested in seeing honest, authentic depictions of women's sexual arousal and orgasm.
